Good video, I'm also in WA state. I bought a suppressor last week at a shop that has their own in-house bare bones trust template. They did warn me though that I would probably want to have everything looked over by a lawyer. That being said, I'm going to use a copy of my existing trust to do a form 1 on e-file to convert an AR15 lower to a SBR lower before 41F takes effect. Once I get my stamps, I'll go to a lawyer to get everything ironed out since their basic trust doesn't have all the extra stuff in the files you linked to, it just had beneficiaries.

Just to double-check... Are all Incapacity committee members and the Successor trustee, Beneficiary acting trustees in the trust? In other words, are all people listed able to take temporary possession of the items in Schedule A without my presence, or do I need to add them somehow in the Assignment of Property? Also, do I need to add the serial #'s of the lowers I plan to SBR, and the serial #'s of the silencers I am submitting to build before I upload to the ATF? Thanks again for informative video!

For example, if your trust is "Michael Brothwick Revocable Living Trust", you put that. If you put "Michael Brothwick" you will get rejected.

I have a revocable trust with all the documents in one packet from a NFA Lawyer. It is nothing closed to yours. I AM WORRIED that I may have gotten duped. I didn't have to add a serial number anything else just a dollar amount.

You are not required to make a trust. A trust in this situation would help to transfer the can to someone else (a beneficiary) upon your death or incapacity. Your beneficiary can then receive the can without having the need to go through the legal requirements because that beneficiary would already be named and identified in the trust, which already has complied with the legal requirements.

Thanks! Your video really helps (more than all the "gripe" videos your see nowadays) to start the process before the coming rule change. I did a little research and it seems that trustees can be added through amendments to the trust and must be notarized.

I've downloaded the required app, attempted to download the file multiple times to my iPad and it shows on the app under the offline tab. When I click it it just hangs saying loading. I've spent 2hrs trying to get this file. Has anyone had any luck? Is it just impossible on an iPad even with the app? I'm also in Washington and really wanted to use it.

Hey man, I can't find any way to contact you privately, so I'll just post this here. You can delete it once you've read it, I won't be offended. lol Anyway, on the last frame of the video, your complete real name (first and last) are visible on the screen from where you were logged in on the ATF website. I see that you take pretty extensive measures to conceal your identity (not unreasonable IMO), so I figured you'd rather not have that info broadcast far and wide. Not too many people have seen this video yet, so there's still time to take it down and edit if you would rather that info not be seen. Just wanted to let you know so that you could preserve your anonymity if you so desired. Very nicely done and informative video BTW. I'm an FFL holder and it is amazing to me how much wrong information gets passed around on the internet about Trusts and the NFA in general. Have you examined how the upcoming changes to how ATF rules on Trusts will affect the process presented here? I'm pretty sure that once the new "interpretation" of the rules goes into effect, you'll have to submit fingerprint cards and photos for at least the controlling officer of the Trust and maybe the other named parties as well. I'm not certain on that though, so don't take it as gospel. Just might want to look into what's coming to see how that might change the process, because IIRC the changeover date is coming later this year. Keep up the good work. I'm a traditional machinist, but I really enjoy seeing how 3D printing is progressing. I do have some interest in it for use in pattern making for prototype foundry work and things like that, but I'm unlikely to use a printer to make something like an AR lower because I already own the machine tools needed to do them from scratch in metal. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos.

Trust Benefits: - LEO signature not required. - Fingerprints not required - Photo not required - More than just the individual NFA owner can be in legal possession of the NFA item, which is what you'd want if you want your adult child or spouse to have the ability to use it when you aren't around. - I believe that since the trust owns the item, it can be inherited tax free.​

+Jason Kling A Trust is a legal entity that holds property. PDF is a file format. It's a common type you get when you scan a file. If you get someone to scan your docs for you after they're signed and notarized, ask them to save them as PDF files.

You cannot efile as an individual. If you want to mail in your form, you can apply as an individual. This option requires passport photographs, fingerprints, and approval from your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer.

thanks. I don't know what legth to put. I want to build a supressor for hand guns I see that 45 works with 40 and 9mm. I did a trust form that is from the silancer shop that's all I have. I don't have a living will. is that an issue?

Look at the good commercial cans out there and use that to pick your length. 6" works for 9mm (hearing safe), but 8" is pretty damn quiet. You don't need a living will.
