To get rid of the noise, you can increase the screen percentage number in the viewport settings (top left corner), to 200. Although it does have a big impact; I would only use it to take some still photos.

@@VRDivision The Unreal produced videos I've watched on Lumen suggest that the artifacts you're seeing in the shadows around the 9:40 mark in the video are due to software ray traced results since you're using a 1080TI. RT capable cards should generate much cleaner results.

From the limited time I've looked at UE5 it seems that any geometry that is exposed to both interior and exterior lighting using lumen should be closed, fully modelled geometry. If there's no transparency in the mesh then convert it to nanite mesh and that mitigates the old problem of too many triangles hence the reason the geometry was left open in the first place to reduce graphic engine costs.

Sir. Im using sketchUp software. If I import it in UE5 do i need to UV unwrapped all model so i can edit each material on it? Or UE5 automatically UV unwrapped my model? This is what i did in UE4 before. from skp > 3ds (unwrapped all materials) > UE4 (I can edit my material and has a accurate scaling)
@rob19632 Жыл бұрын
this is amazing I just whish you could import real lighting data into unreal engine because programs like Relux and Dial lux take hours just to render 1 scene. This is because they run the render on CPU and not GPU . If you could define lights in Unreal using IES or LDT files then that would be great. Industry needs to work with the gaming industry.

Directional light and skylight works great even in the UE4. The problems arise when you cannot use directional light and skylight like for a photography set for example. Using just the regular lights the lighting still looks pretty bad for real time with a lot of shadow artifacts and flickering (without any modding of the .ini file) When following the UE5 development I was kind of hoping the realtime viewport will look somewhat close to the traditional render engines.
@starfoxnik77703 жыл бұрын
I confess i was a little disappointed too. Sometimes there are so many shadowing artifacts and ghosting. For me it isnt viable at the moment. But hey it´s early access they have a lot of time to polish lumen.
