Quick question... when you put foliage such as thise plants... what settings do you use for the lightnaps on them? Or do you just turn lightmaps off for them only?
@StudioHeisenberg3 жыл бұрын
I didn't use any lightmaps here as Lumen does not use baking and don't need it.
@lordkiller9773 жыл бұрын
Extremely useful. I have seen that SkyLight uses RayTracing and not Lumen. Have you noticed that ?........
@chlbrn3 жыл бұрын
I think skylight doesn't contribute to real global illumination, instead, it combines default skylight lighting with distance filed shadow and ambient occlusion from sky lighting.
@StudioHeisenberg3 жыл бұрын
It's strange connection for sure, but I think it will develop a lot in next versions, it actually does use Lumen in its own way, one thing that proves it that if you decrease Lumen final gather it will decrease the quality of the light.
@StudioHeisenberg3 жыл бұрын
@@chlbrn Pretty much the same thing as for Lumen and Direct lighting GI.

Just started doing interiors recently, and when i move around the scene, i noticed that certain areas of the scene would be dark when the camera is near and bright when far. I also had manual exposure setup, so i didnt know what it was. I did some troubleshooting and ultimately found out that it was the sky light causing the issue. Could you do a video on why the sky light does that and the best settings to have it on so it doesnt?
@StudioHeisenberg2 жыл бұрын
Hey Danny, seems like your issue is caused by not modeling the interior right. Make sure each wall is separate object and if not Lumen might not work well, as seems like you get switched out of it and back to it between far and close....

Teacher, I have found the general direction of the noise. If the Angle of view is very close, the noise will be small; if the Angle of view is very far, the noise will be large, which is related to the distance of the Angle of view. But I don't know how to control it.Do you know

Hello. Would you say it is possible now for UE5 to create as good visuals as with vray or corona?
@StudioHeisenberg3 жыл бұрын
There are still gaps that needs to be crossed in order for UE5 to be good in all fields as Vray, Corona or other renderers, translucent materials are at this point the biggest gap. But with few workarounds and covering some flaws I think most of the clients wont notice big difference between these two (not all of course).
