Missing the text-editor of Adobe Premiere I found a way simpler method: Create a high picture in Adobe Photoshop or Affinity Photo (width is the size of you video, height several times the video-height). Add your text there and you can use all the fonts, pictures and other stuff you want to use. Put that picture in the Davinci Resolve Timeline, zoom it until it has the correct width and use the inspector to let it scroll from top to bottom.

I'm thinking this is a perfect job for fusion scripting. Then there's no question things are aligned and centered properly, and you can make radical format changes easily.

Nice video, how would you add scrolling pictures to the credits?
@jazmania4 жыл бұрын
Actually was able to do this myself. Basically you just add the pictures you want into the fusion view and connect via a merge just before the transform step. Thankfully no matter at what step in the timeline you position the picture it will scroll along with the text. Works really well.

This works fine in Davinci Resolve 17 but it's no smoother than just keyframing a Resolve scrolling text element or a png file exported from Photoshop

@bruhe31784 жыл бұрын
Hi, I had the same issues as you, I fixed it by making sure that all the lines were placed properly. Make sure that all the arrows and lines are properly placed onto each node. Reasoning: Notice that each side of the node have a different color? Specially the merge node. Basically each side represents either mask, background or foreground. When you want to merge the text into the node, you need to merge into the correct place (should be either background or foreground, but I usually merge it into foreground)

@theburnerking3 жыл бұрын
@@JandeBloois1952 sorry sorry, I meant POWER bins. It's been a while since I set them up. Click on the 'view' menu and check 'show power bins'. Then you can just drag clips over there. You can organise your power bin with sub bins eg rolling credits, opening titles, lower thirds. Hope that helps.
@JandeBloois19523 жыл бұрын
@@theburnerking Thanks for your correction. I selected the Power Bins and drag the Compound Clip with the credits in it. It shows up there. Then I opened a previous project. I dragged the Compound Clip in it, but it was not the same. Mister Da Vinci has mysterious ways..... I still have to learn a lot.
@theburnerking3 жыл бұрын
@@JandeBloois1952 maybe it's a Davinci bug or there is a better way. You'll have to do some further research. The power bins have been useful but I seem to remember there being some issue with saving certain settings. No idea. Check out MrAlexTech channel and power bins. I think he has mentioned a glitch somewhere along the way. Good luck.

Hello Chris, I'm using your tutorial to create the credits for my documentary in Davnici Resolve 16. But there happens something weird. After using more than 4 different text boxes the previous one, or ones, between the first 3 boxes and the one that I'm modifying are no longer visible in the playback screen. I have a lot of text so the biggest part is in green, below the first boxes but are no longer visible then, until I select that one to work with. But the difficulty lies in the fact that I can't line up different text boxes anymore because the previous one is invisible. Do you know what I am doing wrong or what setting needs to be changed to constantly see every text box in the playback viewer?
@prentusnews2402 жыл бұрын
I think had the same or similar issue. I am pretty sure your merge functions are out of order. What I did to fix was delete all of the merges and then readded them and reconnected them from the top down (in order)

your method will definitely cause the credit jittering in theatrical environments, you have to make sure the credit moves integral figures pixels per frame.

There s a way to add tabs in a single text + noise and forrmat different parts of the text independently. Probably more difficult, except that it makes center titles easier if you make changes. So you know how to do that?

@setsuMei-chan3 жыл бұрын
Could be lag. Try exporting
@FrancoAversa3 жыл бұрын
this way your roll will have jitter because the lines are drawn at different speeds. you have to place the starting point on an integer and then move one frame, move the height of 2-3 pixels but on an integer Y number. Then interpolate the frames using splines. This is the right way to not jitter
@angelicafalco36493 жыл бұрын
