If we don't like to do the magic circle, can we substitue with a slip knot amd chain five then make that into a circle by slip stitching into the first chain? I heard that somewhere but wasn't sure if it was true. Is there a substitute for the magic circle? Thanks!

I made one in a smaller size...3.75". Hardest part was sewing the clasp...very tight area and you actually have to go in and under to secure visually. Thanks!

you need to say how many stiches we end up with at the end each time....ive torn mine apart 3 times......do i end in a chain or sc???? even your blog doesnt say...frustrating

She is using a 4.5 mm hook with cotton aran yarn. Aran yarn is slightly heavier than worsted weight. These are size 4 (medium weight) yarn. You could use anything you want though since this pattern is based heavily on preference.
