This was soooo tragic, it stopped in my tracks when I found out the news that she passed a couple of weeks ago. No words can express how sorry I am for her and her family. Listen up folks, everything she says in this video is SPOT ON! I’m a beginner, I started with a simple winter headband. Yes, it was wonky, but I still wear it because you really can’t tell, lol. I chose a speckled yarn, WRONG! My shoulders were tight and so were my stitches, lol. I’ve since moved on to Amigurumi, which is done in rounds instead of rows. I’m getting so much better with practice, it doesn’t take long. Listen to this video! It really will give you the best start.

She’s the one who got me started. I love her videos! Her sweet spirit, calmness, and confidence in her teaching tutorials drew me to love the stress-relief, way-better-and-cheaper-than-any-therapy hobby I’ve discovered in crocheting. I recently started back up with crocheting again. It’s been a year or two. Tonight I was having some trouble with a crochet pattern to the point where I just wanted to give up. I remembered that a couple years ago I made my niece the berry stitch blanket and what a fun nice project that was and how it was Melanie’s tutorial that taught me how to make that blanket. So tonight I went back to her channel to see if I could find one of her videos to help me with the project I’m working on now. Sure enough I did find one of her videos helpful with my current project. However, I am so sad to hear Melanie has passed away. I just want to say Melanie was an incredible teacher and inspiration. She made crocheting for me and I’m sure so many others a lot more fun and much easier.
