How to crochet a girl's circle neck dress / tunic / top

This tutorial will show you how to crochet a little girl's circle neck dress / tunic / top. This dress is a suitable project for beginners.
Baby sizes: • VERY EASY crochet circ...
For size 1 - 2 years use a 4mm crochet hook
For size 2 - 3 years use a 4.5mm crochet hook
For size 3 - 4 years use a 5mm crochet hook
For size 4 - 5 years use a 5.5mm crochet hook
For size 5 - 6 years use a 6mm crochet hook
For size 6 - 7 years use a 6.5mm crochet hook
For my dress I used a 5mm crochet hook and Drops Paris yarn (worsted weight).

Hi I made the smallest size which looks very nice. But I just wanted to ask as the neck is obviously meant to be wide. But I am just a bit concerned if too wide for a small baby? 0 to 3 months size. Thank you very much for all your work!

If you don't have Aran/Worsted weight yarn, just double up on DK yarn. It's a bit more complicated but it still works and can make a gorgeous marble effect if you use 2 different colours.

I am so confused. I am at row 8 where you say to use a stitch marker and just go around and around with double crochet. Do we chain one at the stitch marker. Has anyone actually tried to make this? I've tried the baby tutorial (other video) for my one year old and couldn't get the 60 starting chain over her head at all. So I tried the 1-2 year size as described here, and that barely fit over her... could barely fit her arms through the sleeves. Frogged, tried upping the hook size to recommended 2-3 yr size for my one year old, and the dress still looks tiny. My child is average sized, 50th percentile, so wanted to give others a heads up that this dress fits 2-3 sizes too small --- use a bigger hook than you think you need unless you enjoy frogging!!!!

Of course! Just don't fasten off at the end of each round of the neckline. Just work the slip stitch and then ch1 and start the next round x

Chain 75, just to make bigger dresses increase your hook size. If you don't have aran/worsted weight, double up on DK yarn. It's a bit more complicated but it still works and can make a marble effect.

Valentino Di Viani I had the same question as Elizabeth. I’m using hook size 6mm. But it came out just large enough to fit my soon to be 1 y.o. I’d like to make some for my 5 and 6 year old... what do I do??? What hook size would you recommend and how many chains?

@@johannah9999 well I use UK metric sizes so maybe try a 12MM, if its for winter triple up on DK. Just increase your hook size in general. I'm using a 12mm and tripled dk yarn to make a scrap-ghan atm. Big enough. It's 3feet wide and that makes up 84 chains
