Hi, Just wanted to say I love your videos. My grandma had started to teach me to crochet before she passed away and since no one else in my family knew how to crochet I gave up on learning. I'm an extremely visual learner and learning from books just didn't cut it. I love how simple and to the point your videos are and they really helped me continue with learning to crochet. I just finished your beginner series and am now about to make my sister a baby blanket for her baby shower. Thanks so much for creating these.

Christina Hall : same with me---I'm a visual learner too. I bought a lot of books about how to crochet but all those don't work for me because I learn much effectively through watching how it is done rather than reading the instructions.

Hello Crochet Guru! I just wanted to thank you for posting all of these tutorials. I honestly used your videos to teach myself how to crochet. You are very clear in your descriptions, you repeat steps when necessary, and you go slow. Thank you so much for all of your help!

I've been trying to teach myself how to crochet, but most of the other lessons I've found have been much too fast for me to follow. It turns out that I've been doing single crochets as slip stitches this whole time and still had projects mostly turning out! Ha ha. I can't wait to see how they come out now that I know how to do the stitches properly. Many thanks!
@CrochetGuru11 жыл бұрын
No problem Rich... I had the same problem. Try holding your yarn and hook hand further apart and concentrate on letting the yarn flow more loosely through your hands. It's tricky but you'll get it!

Hi Rich... a couple of things that may be happening is that your tension may be getting tighter as you work. That is really common when you start crocheting. Another possibility is that you may be missing stitches. So to fix this make sure your hold on your yarn and hook stays the same throughout your work... and count your stitches after every row to make sure you have the right amount. If this isn't it let me know and I will help you out some more with this!

New to your channel and agree with the other commenters- your instructions are really nice and clear! Subcribed 😁. One thing I'm baffled by, is when a pattern calls for a slip stitch all the way across then I can't figure out what you're supposed to go into on the next row bcuz that slip stitch row is now so thick and sort of "roof-shaped" if you will, that I can't figure out which part of that thing I'm now supposed to go into! No idea if this makes sense... Any thoughts? TIA!

A single crochet is when you yarn over before pulling it thru the loops at the end. The slip stitch, you don't yarn over, you just pull the loop that you pulled thru your chain, into the one that was already on your hook. So, only two loops on your hook, 3 loops for the single crochet. :)
