THHHHHAAAAAANK YOU for including actual measurements, especially with the difference in the starting chain vs with stitches, it is so helpful. Wonderful, clear instructions. (Note to self: worsted weight, 5 mm Susan Bates hook, 21" circumfrance)

Mine turned out too big LOL, it's probably because I used a thicker yarn. It's still cute tho :) Tysm for this tutorial.

I’m trying and trying but my hook messes with meeeeee! I’m trying to pull through but it just doesnt work. I don’t know what yarn I’m using (I just took from my shelf some yarn that looked easy to work with, it didn’t have the label on) but I’m having so much trouble! I want to make a beanie for my boyfriend and my big brother for christmas😭 Edit: I MADE IT WORK! I don’t know if this makes a difference, but I took hold on to the two loops with my fingers and just pulled them through if I had trouble pulling them through with the hook. The first row looks beautiful, but it took me one hours to make it 😅. But I think the next rows will be easier and faster

I'm a bit confused as to why you changed to pink could you please explain? Also on your green beanie video with super chunky yarn, how many balls of 100g did you use please? 😊❤
@CherilynQ Жыл бұрын
Sure! I used pink so show more clearly how to change color. I used almost 2 balls to make that super chunky beanie 😊
@kimberlywoods1989 Жыл бұрын
@@CherilynQ brilliant, so nearly 200g? I'm ordering for my kids so 2 each should be perfect
@CherilynQ Жыл бұрын
Yes, I think that should be fine.

She changed to pink because black is a really hard color to see the stitches and see how she change colors. If you’ve ever used black is incredibly hard to see which stitch your entering

If you have a steamer, use the steamer to loosen it up a bit. Or use the steam setting in the iron as well. Don’t lay the iron directly on the project just hover it over a bit so the steam can penetrate it. Heat allows the material to become more flexible. Hope this helps 😊

If you have experience in crochet and are confident you won't miss any stitch, then you don't have to use them.

Hi Cherilyn I love your tutorials. You’re a great teacher. You explained everything so clearly I really appreciate it. I have a question. Why do you work in the back of the chain and can you work in the front and does it give you a different effect when you work in the back bumps? Auntie Old G
@CherilynQ9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! In most situations, I prefer the edge done with working into the back bump, it creates some thickness to the finished edge, while if you work in the chains normally, the edge is thin. I only do that if the edge is the bottom of a sweater that has no hem/ribbing or something like that.

How many grams makes this beanie? I bought three red skeins each 170.1g to make my boyfriend and I matching ones and hoping I ordered enough. I didn’t realize how small the yarn was either. I got caron simply soft.

I’ll have to try it to even out the edges, thanks so much for helping it defiantly does not look as good as the one in the video but I think it looks good for my first time.
