It's a miracle! I have watched many videos that claim to show how to create a magic circle. They are pretty much the same and I still wasn't able to create one. I ran across your video "accidentally," if you believe in such things, and it immediately clicked. I think the difference is that you only used your index finger to create the circle and didn't use a crochet hook in the process. Thank you for your clear instructions. You have made me more confident!

This method eliminates the confusion about which yarns you're working into after the beginning slip knot, without having to drop and rearrange your tail and working yarn - that's where I would always go wrong. With this method, you don't drop your yarn and just carry on working into the ring you've made. Thank you

Brilliant! I had watched a couple of other videos that showed wrapping the yarn around the whole hand, and every time I tried it my circle was too sloppy, and I couldn’t figure out where to go after pulling up the first loop. Why didn’t I think of making the ring smaller?! So much easier. Thank you! I really prefer the magic circle/ring over the slip knot, ch4, etc. for starting triangular shawls because it makes a much neater beginning. My life just got easier!

Thank you for this. You're method seems simpler than others to understand, which is great! I do have a question, when you secure the loop, do you consider that an sc or just securing it [2:25 in your video]? I've seen videos where they consider the "securing sc" as an actual sc and that messes me up in patterns. Does that make sense what I'm asking?
@LMLMCrochet4 жыл бұрын
Yes it makes sense and yes I consider it as a stitch on the next round. Hope that helps.
