If I end on a back double crochet, should I start the next side with a bpdc? Thanks!

When you start a new side you always want to start with a FPDC. By doing it this way you don't have to check for a specific stitch count down the sides of the blanket.

When I saw your Title "Mini" I was not interpreting that as "fewer". I was thinking 'Perhaps a new use of HDC?' I feel that using 2 Dc alternating begins that "Basket" look. 3 Dc = regular; 4 Dc = large. Using only one Dc is very pretty, but I feel that it doesn't quite have that "Basket" look. This is not a criticism just a discussion of visual appearance. You do very well with your presentations. Thank you. Oh, I saw one lady using Trebles Alternating ever 3. A more Flexible fabric results.

I have just recently seen this stitch called the seed stitch, but was going off what other designers have called this stitch when using it in pattern.
