I loved finding new tips with your videos. I learned in this one how to start my first row in the back nubs of the chain row to have a more finished look at the start and the end of the project. It allows not having to put a border around my work! Thank you!! PS...I love that your fingernail polish matches your yarn!

Thank you SO much for introducing the HDC at each end of the rows. I love it!!! The HDC is much cleaner than using the SC.

Thanks for posting this. I have been making dishcloths with the suzette stitch but you, doing the first row all SC and then adding HDC at the beginning and the end of each row gives this a beautiful edge all around. Much appreciated!! (and I subscribed)

Oh my goodness! I goofed mine all up, lol!! I have been doing a dble cr and then a single crochet. I am using Bernat Baby blanket yarn, which will cover all my goof ups, lol!! And as long as my sides are straight, I bet no one will ever know the difference, lol!!

I did this today and after 14 rows it was looking as if the beginning and end of each row were taller than the middle of my rows. My HDC stitches. I asked some other crochet crafters in the yarn wars FB group and a few suggested I do SC instead of HDC. That’s how they do suzette stitch. So I frogged it and started over. Also looked at other KZbin videos.

I first watched this video on my phone so some of your steps could not be seen so clearly. I realized that starting with the second row, I am working in the gaps left from skipping the stitch in the previous row. When watching more closely on my computer, I can see that you're working in the single crochet from previous row, but it was much easier for me to just go into the gap between stitches. I'm only about 4 rows in, so I could undo it, but do you know of a reason I shouldn't do this?

I need to make a baby blanket and this would be perfect. Do you think it'll work with variegated yarn? That's what she wants
@mariapepper6175
@mariapepper6175 Жыл бұрын
Just an opinion from a viewer. I love working with the variegated yarns. They are so colorful and pretty. The only thing I find is that sometimes the crochet pattern does not show up as much as it would have in a solid color yarn. However, that never seems to stop me from using the variegated! I think you should use what you and the recipient of the blanket likes. I'm sure it will be beautiful either way. 🙏

For a good sized baby blanket, let's say 32" x 40"... How many skeins of baby yarn do you think this pattern would use?
@charissasmith
@charissasmith 11 ай бұрын
That depends on the weight of yarn. If you want to use light baby yarn, this pattern would use about 3-5 skeins. For bulky or super bulky yarn, you might want to use 1-4 skeins. Be sure to read the label and make sure that it is baby/kid-safe.

The yarn ist just a regular 100% cotton yarn like you would use for potholders etc.. Just buy the colours you find pretty at your local yarn store. 😉
