Fibre Flux videos are the easiest to follow. This is a fantastic tutorial. Thank you. N.B. I first tried a sample using 100% merino size 5 yarn but it did not suit. The I used Caron Skinny Cakes size 3 yarn with a size 5 crochet hook which worked better. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished scarf. I’m making it skinny for our summer. 🌺

Thanks for this pattern. I used Bernat Blanket for a different texture and thickness. Using one skein, about 14 chains to start up, works very quickly, probably 2 hours, no interruptions. Scarf is super chunky thick! Wish I could post a pic!

9:10 I'm a little confused here, the video seems to show two different ways of ending the row: either FPDC on second to last and then DC on last, ignoring the chain, or after the video cuts it shows FPDC on last stitch and DC on top of chain. Do we just choose whichever way we like? The former makes the most sense, but in the latter I'm not sure if I'm missing something it doesn't line up. There's 21 DC in the first row. The first stitch of the second row is a DC, and from there you repeat the series of 3 stitches (1 FPDC, 2 DC) 6 times to end on a full sequence (now you've done 19 stitches in this row) before the end of the row would leave two stitches and the chain. This is where I'm confused: If you're going to FPDC in the last stitch and DC in the chain, you'd have to either skip a stitch (ending with 21 stitches like the previous row) or have 3 DC in a row or 2 FPDC in a row (which would end up with 22 stitches in the row) because otherwise the numbers aren't adding up. Sorry if I misunderstood something ;;

I was always confused on how the horizontal ringing was made but had never seen any waffle stitch pieces or handled them to see how it was done, this was an easy follow along! I used the “mistletoe” yarn by RHSS and used a jumbo roll + half of a second jumbo roll to make it and I’m gone to border it with white and add tassels 😁😁

Your tutorials are fabulous! I've made several of your projects in the just the past few weeks. One possibly dumb 😳 question I have is about how to identify the "top chain" of the turning chain. For me it's usually just "trial & error" and then I see what looks good and/or is continuing the edge straight. For this waffle stitch though since we are only chaining 1 at the end of each row I'm struggling trying to figure out which is the "top chain" of the turning chain. I can't quite tell in this video. 🙄
@karenc7238
@karenc7238 8 жыл бұрын
Update: now that I've gotten about a dozen rows down I must have guessed correctly as the last stitch of each row now appears to make sense. However, if you have any "basic" tutorials about identifying stitches, turning chains, top chains, etc. that would be great! 👍🏻😀
