Hello ! I am from Kazakhstan ) 4th year in the medical school (little bit different than in US). A year ago, after watching "73 questions to a neurosurgeon," I was pleasantly surprised that this was the kind of person I wanted to be when I became a doctor. After the exchange in Europe, I realized that I wanted to become a Neurosurgeon. I tried to watch all your videos and I got more and more inspired. I would like to ask if there is an opportunity for a foreigner like me to get an internship with you? And how often do foreigners become neurosurgeons in the USA ? After all, the USA is famous for its strong medicine. And I wanted to be a part of it all! Thank you)

You are a true gift to the field. I love your transparency in your videos. Thank you for your wisdom! I am extremely interested in pursuing spine surgery, so I am currently working on spearheading a new research project at my medical school. Would love if you shared some insight on the orthopedic spine versus neurosurgical spine pathways, in terms of conditions treated, work volume, etc. I guess perhaps it ultimately comes down on whether you are interested in operating on the brain as well, but maybe it is more than just that. I apologize if this is an often-asked question, but am interested in hearing your perspective.

Amazing! thank you very much for the content Dr. Rutkowski. While I do appreciate the channel and the projection of where its going, its hard for those of us who are much more interested in the topic of neurosurgery to be fulfilled by a short video. I would suggest a more clinical second channel in approaches of treating patients. Education is such a valuable aspect and yet globally its very challenging to have quality education like yourself. Here are some examples - how do you treat brain tumors, - what are the common therapeutic approaches, - where does the current field of neurosurgery stand - what are some of the challenges in neurosurgery - Global neurosurgery - I can keep going but I think people would appreciate a more clinical second channels to raise curiosity and interest.I can't imagine how motivated I would be seeing a day in the life of a neurosurgeon. Thank you sir.

Thank you very much.

Just a random thought, if you have time to reply. I actually have a very serious brain injury from an accident when I had when I was nine. I have a particular interest in minimally invasive general surgery or just the surgery room in general something about it just feels magical. I cant pursue medicine as my learning disability stops me. Is there a line of work that you can recommend? maybe some sort of operation table you do not need a degree for?

Current MS-1 here. Does extensive research outside of neurosurgery hold the same weight as research in neurosurgery (assuming the applicant has substantial shadowing/clinical experiences in neurosurgery)? Similarly, do publications done in undergraduate hold any weight if you've been with the same P.I. from undergrad through medical school?
