Hi Shawn, great work on the video as usual. Thanks to all your videos I have finally managed to stop my over the top swing, however I have now developed a new problem. My hands at impact are much higher than they are at address causing my swing arc to be too high and top the ball. What is the cause of this?

Seeing the blur of the club and staying with it is pure gold! As I have heard you talk about it in previous videos, I focused on that this evening (before seeing this video...lol) . Wow! There is some free power when I don't try to steer the club and drawing the ball feels much easier! :)

Hi Shawn. Great video. Is it best once you have everything set to not look at the target and instead keep focussed on the intermediate point and path?

YES!!! It is essential! As the side vision will always dupe you into swinging in the wrong direction!!

@@golflessons great, thank you so much. I have watched so many different coaches on KZbin but have unsubscribed to all except you when it comes to my progression in golf. I still obviously watch others but they are purely for course vlog’s etc. I feel that you have the right way of coaching for me as you never ever tell people they ‘have’ to be in certain positions in the swing. Its all about feel and focus on the task. Sometimes i have wiped my memory before a shot of every tip i have ever heard and simply told my brain i want the ball to land at point x and hey presto, just like that the kinetic chain lets everything happen automatically and i’m within a few yards. Thanks again sir

What was the ball position with the driver when setting up to hit a draw? Do you playing a ball width back of normal?
@golflessons4 жыл бұрын
The ball position you need to catch the ball on the way up and to the right of the intermediate point. It has to fit! See “predict solid contact and direction shawn clement” and goldie locks the position until it feels right for the shot you need!

Great stuff Shawn ! It seems like you could be more aggressive with this concept and free up your swing a lot ,,,For a draw with driver you are going in to out maybe 3 to 5 degrees to the right ,, right over your intermediate target 6 inches in front of you ,,for a wedge would it be like 1 or 2 degrees in to out with the same swing thought ? Thanks,,Great video

Great video as usual Shawn; I really like how you and Sav work together 👍🏻 Quick question that isn't really relevant to this video... Even though my ball striking is pretty good and I'm down to 3; I'm losing my angles before impact, causing me to be a bit flippy at impact This makes me pull my irons long left and even when I swing more to the right I still get a big over draw This can be a nightmare into the wind or whenever there's a right to left wind How can I stop this without having to think about any body part movements? Thanks Shawn

Hey Adam! When you hit that shot, rewind in your mind to the point where you were just before you swung: what was your task? What were you trying to do?
@putting634 жыл бұрын
@@golflessons Thanks for the reply My thought is to swing towards the right of target because I draw my irons But they always seem pull left and it's not good when I'm having to aim too far to the right...

@@putting63 ok, see “predict solid contact and direction shawn clement” and “how to put the ball in the way of your swing shawn clement” and “why you can’t line up properly shawn clement” Your eyes are playing tricks on you and you THINK you need to swing too far right; it is a combo of ball position and perception of where the target really is.

I notice Sav swings well inside on the takeaway and then the downswing is what it seems well 'over the top' of her backswing plane. Not normally the instruction seen on here. Is that something you normally fix in new golfers or something she's trying to fix in her swing at all?
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
We simply allow the swing to evolve around a steadfast task; You will see that the swing is delivered on the direction she wants to start the ball; no worries at all!

My guess would be it is more easy on the vertebra and in most cases delivers more power. Especially for those whom lack flexibility or are getting up in age. I dunno

Dynamically closed, during the swing. Dustin Johnson has a very closed face where the club face points to the sky at the top of his backswing and he still hits nice power fades with his shots.
