depends on how well the surface absorbs liquid. dip the tip of a paper towel in a cup of water and watch the water creep up the towel.

I’m gonna say no but I’ll report back once I try so stay tuned in the next week or so❤ Reason I say no is bc I use angelus leather paint and it doesn’t work on soles so that’s my logic so I’m also curious 👀

But what if you have to dip the whole shoe, can you like wrap painters tape around the sole? Or put Vaseline on the sole to make a barrier? Or Elmer's glue and then just peel it off? Is this only for that specific shoe?

Salt is important for fixing dye's to the fabric. There's a lot more out there on the science, but the TLDR is Yes its needed for a good dye job.

Hey there Allison, since you're going from light to dark you can choose one of our All-Purpose Brown Liquid Dyes to overdye your yellow shoes to a medium brown color. Hope this helps!

You can always overdye when going from light to dark! Reebok Club C is the name of the shoe, and it's made of cotton to make it more dye-friendly.

Our All-Purpose Dye will tint them, while our DyeMore for Synthetics will give it a more saturated look. You'll need high heat for both!

If I do this to running shoes would i need to worry about the color running if they got wet. Like if i was out for 5 miles and it was raining or will they retain their color well? I want to do it to a pair of brooks shoes that are white. I have an uncommon shoe size so companies tend to only make white or black shoes in my size.

Hey there! As long as you rinse out all the dye and use our ColorStay Dye fixative, the colors shouldn't run. Although oftentimes running shoes are made of synthetic materials, so you'll need our DyeMore for Synthetics using the stovetop method.
