It’s June, so that means…Happy Mango Month! We wanted to honor mangoes in all its glory. So yes, this video is longer than other videos on how to cut a mango and for good reason. This video has everything you need to know!
Learn how to cut a mango, the real way. There are many varieties of mangoes. So, don't judge them by the color of their skin, as per the National Mango Board. For real!!! They may already be ripe. Some are soft and some are firm, so prepping them has to be different.
In this video, we will cut a yellow and red mango, the two most commonly found varieties at the grocery. You’ll see two different ways to cut this fruit and four ways to eat them. The best part about this video, is seeing how to cut this fruit with actual directions so you don’t hit the seed.
Here is what you need to cut these mangoes:
Yellow Mango - Sharp knife and spoon
Red Mango - Sharp knife, vegetable peeler, cut glove (if you have it, it’s so handy ;-P)
Healthy Tip: Remember to eat at least 5 servings of vegetables and fruits per day (more non-starchy vegetables than fruit though) to help you minimize your risk for heart disease and diabetes.
