I helped my husband use this technique since I have not had a trim since February. He cut off 4 to 5 inches. I ended up about the same length as the model in the video. It turned out great! I'm so happy with it. Thank you for the tutorial!

I hope I have the same luck as you! I’m having my husband cut my hair this weekend! 🤞

I tried this on my sister and it turned out great! It helped that her hair is a bit curly at the ends which hid any uneven lines.

I did this on my 7-year-old. Her hair is also a bit curly at the end. Turned out good.

I have long lob but yesterday my daughter cut two inches of it. Unfortunately she didn’t use this technique but she did an awesome job I’m so pleased with it. I’ll save this video for future trims if Hairdresser’s don’t open

Looking for tips to trim my wife’s hair.. very nervous.. what was you doing to the hair above the ear, when you was pulling down sections to cut along the side ? Looked like you was tapping it? Thanks..
@SandraB10004 жыл бұрын
She was tapping the top of the ear so it would "flatten" the hair above the ear so it won't be so taut and to allow for some "give" otherwise the hair will pull up from the bottom, and when she cut the bottom, it wouldn't align with the rest of the guide she set. The ear comes outward taking the hair around it outwards which will then pull it up slightly at the bottom when you cut it. So you have to give it a tap to allow the hair to flatten so the length matches at the bottom.

I love how she can spin her comb like that!

what if your hair is naturally curly & thick? if I tried to cut it while wet it'd be super tangled. My hair currently is sort of like the end result but I have bangs, the ends however do need to be evened out, needs a trim. The underside of my hair is very thick and wavy, if I pinned up the top layer and straightened the underside would that cause me to lose volume because all layers would then be flatter? that's my only concern. I've always had very very thick curly hair, I let it air dry, which it then gets bushy and frizzy, and then I flat iron the top layer and curl under the ends. looking for something like the above video so it looks more polished but mine is so curly it's crazy to work with. even when wet it's wavy..

Does anyone know why she taps the top of the ear when doing the sides?
@nicolesofia30534 жыл бұрын
so that the hair is sitting naturally. if she pulled the hair straight down where the ear is and cut the hair the hair will jump up because the ear pokes out (:

CONGRATULATIONS. Good job. Please let me know why you cut the hair step by step (layers by layers) and not once on the back, not once on the left side and not once on the right side. Thank you very much.

What if your hair doesn’t part in the middle?
@jessicacollins6452 жыл бұрын
I’ve been trying to find a video to answer that seeing as I only ever part my hair on the side
@detectivefiction3701 Жыл бұрын
The middle part is only for purposes of cutting. In other words, the stylist has to part everyone's hair in the middle so that the haircut will turn out even on both sides. When the cutting is all finished, the stylist will then re-part the hair with a side part.
