What is it with Polynesian/Maori men that they always look fat, yet muscular and damn healthy? To me as an outsider, this looks culturally ingrained. Is there any specific reason?

zeezhz pretty sure polynesian men husk coconuts, eat coconuts, climbs coconuts like a boss and they are somewhat fireproof.

You could get pretty hungry there as a child and you could be mildly malnourished. Therefore to combat this, the body collects all of fat in each meal and holds it until the next meal comes around. This makes some people from Polynesia look fat but under there is pure muscle and it was gained from husking coconuts, climbing trees and lifting. 💪

they live on an island. A lot of their food comes imported in as canned or super processed.

I used to dance at tahitian village. But nothing good came out good of it. Just coconut and whisky and my dream of tahitian wahines.
