Hi, it varies depending on the type of simple key programming kit. Some simple key kits can program up to four keys/remotes, while others can program up to eight keys/remotes. I recently bought an f150 2012 and had the mykey feature already on from the dealership the truck came with 3 keys only one remote starts the truck the other one works the locks and the last one doesn’t do anything haha what do you suggest to disable the mykey feature ?

If you only have one key that starts the engine and already has MyKey enabled, you can use our kit to make a new admin key so you can disable it. The Programmer might also get your other keys working if they have the correct components inside

Yes, it should work just fine for you, provided your Explorer came from the factory with a fob to lock/unlock the doors. You'll need to choose between the key fob with lock/unlock only or the one with a rear hatch/truck or remote start buttons, depending on which came form factory. If you are not sure, just make a guess and at least the lock/unlock should work. Here's the page: tomskey.com/pages/ford. It's also strange that you have a plain metal key - that suggests someone in the past did something to bypass the immobiizer (chip) in the key. That's separate from the lock/unlock functions.

Ok so there’s 100’s of videos of how to program an extra key. How about if it shows 5 keys out there and you only have 2? I believe someone is using an extra key to get into my truck. Can you erase and reprogram with a different code so only the 2 keys you have will work? Hopefully without getting your truck re keyed..

Yeah pretty pissed off because I bought my truck from a dealership and they only gave me one key because it was a used truck. I found out after purchase that it had the my key activation lock on it. I received my key, had it cut and followed the directions in the video and the ez installer just beeps continuously. There’s no manual in the package. I call car keys express because it’s their product and they give me your number that has a recording saying that you don’t accept phone calls. I did the chat on your website that was totally useless. I was told that someone would call me as soon as they could and it’s been three days. I called car keys express again and they told me that the ez installer won’t work with my key activated and that your videos are out of date. Now I have paid over $100 on a key that is useless to me and I’ve wasted about 3 hours of my time trying to get someone to help me figure this out.
