Love these videos Houston. I usually put on a lengthy podcast or video and spend 2 hours just practicing shuffles and mechanics... I find it relaxing.

I couldn't agree with you more Joe. I think it was Ricky jay that once said how shuffling cards for hours is like spending time with a close friend.

Nice catch! Yes, you should always have shiny side facing down. Lots of other small things need to be updated on this vid. I’ll get around to it soon. Thanks for stopping by

What happens after the hand is complete? Are all shuffle steps repeated?
@KardSharp
@KardSharp Жыл бұрын
Typically when a hand is finished the remainder of the deck gets laid on table with a slight spread. All discards including the board are mucked, scrambled into the remainder of the deck, squared up with cards facing away from dealer, and then, the riffle, riffle, box, riffle, cut to cut card procedure repeats. These action change if the dealer is using a shuffling machine, which would be simply collecting the discards, placing the deck into tue shuffler, taking the new deck out. When doing so, I always recommend one table riddle shuffle after the deck comes out of a shuffling machine. This negates clear rain cheating methods used by rigged electronic shufflers.

I really like the way some European dealers/croupiers deal poker cards it's like a fluid one-motion machine shooting cards from the dealer to the players... Anyone know what I mean because I only ever see dealt on some Poker vids from Europe., namely Paris France.

Both good answers from Alex and TetrisPimp. To add to that: it’s very easy for a dealer to “peek” the top card. The burn adds an extra layer of protection. Also, imagine the cards were marked… a cheat might glimpse the dealers top card while in the tank making a decision to fold, call or raise. Having a burn would eliminate such a tactic.

@@KardSharp as an addition, it also improves general flow. its very easy to flip a card when pitching, even us very experienced dealers will still flip a card on occasion. rather than needing to misdeal the whole thing, you just make the flipped card the first burn. game has more integrity, and now flows better too. win win

Great Video. Just 1 question. Is it a must to shuffle with the corners or could i shuffle eith one of the long sides aligned, since the deck is too slippery for me, when i shuffle over the corner
@KardSharp
@KardSharp 3 ай бұрын
What is slippery about it? Have you tried squaring off with the index finger before the riffle?

Lol. The result of too many home games. You’re right, should always be 3 down, turn and spread.

and tuck burn cards under
@KardSharp
@KardSharp 2 жыл бұрын
@@gustavgretel7032 hi Gustasv. Funny you bring that up ...as I've noticed dealers doing it more often these days. over a decade ago, placing a burn card underneath the previous burn card wasn't "a thing" in many card rooms. And of course still isn't in home games...even those with private dealers. But I will include that when I make an update.

Good video, but don’t get in the bad habit of thumping the table before every burn and turn. It really just becomes a habit and shouldn’t ever be necessary in heads up or even 3 way action. It’s for a hand with more players and/or lots of action. And do not pound the table. Ever
@KardSharp
@KardSharp 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I respectfully disagree about the table thump. When playing in super high stakes games, the table pound gives final notice the next card is about to peel allowing players to pause if need be…. To make a deal, offer to run it more than once etc. Some dealers always implement it and it’s a personal choice depending on the flow of the game. A simple statement that says…. We’re moving on. It’s not wrong if the game wants it.

Incorrect.... Tapping the table is the signal from the dealer to the players that the dealer is about to proceed... If there's anything the players see that the dealer missed, that's the opportunity for a player to speak up... Every good dealer taps the table and announces how many players are in the hand before each flop, turn, and river
