My husband has been lying to me for 13 years and I have tried being caring and kind about it. It never stops. Some people are just evil.

Hello Sir. Thank you for your video! Do you think that a third reason for lying could be pathological? I’ve addressed lying from my spouse in a very calm and loving way. However, the lying has continued for even very simple things. We’ve seen a counselor and we know that this is something that was taught to him by his mother. His mother actually told me herself that she taught him as a child that he doesn’t always have to tell the whole truth. She also lies excessively even when there is no threat. They both make up detailed stories about things even when no one asks a question. Are there personality disorders, mental disorders that could cause someone to lie excessively? I ask because I know his mother is very anxious and may be on the autistic spectrum, and he has demonstrated similar behaviors. Thanks again!

Thanks Terry-Ann, I agree that there are people that seem to lie for no apparent reason. I’ll add it to my list next time. However, because they usually would not lie in such a way that they would get hurt, we can assume that, they lie to get some form of gain that is not obvious to most people around them. In the case of your husband, it’s may be easier for him to unlearn telling of lies as he experiences the negative effects of years of sowing lies. I assume that you must be experiencing these negative fruits already. These negative experiences coupled with his personal desire to stop, your support and most importantly, the power of the Holy Spirit will deliver him from this habit.

Hi, how about when a spouse lies consistently because he's a narcissist incapable of truth?
@AdeSobanjo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to ask this question. I know there are people that lie often for seemingly frivolous reasons. Do you think there are people who are incapable of telling the truth?
