My partner is like you, a Driver-analytical!!! I so feel at home watching your videos. I like how you get to the point in a precise yet detailed way. For myself I am an Expressive-Driver. As a couple we struggle to have a social life and obviously I'm the only one who minds lol. He's a champ though, he really learned to listen to me talking for long period of times. It's on his mental checklist of "things I have to do to be a good boyfriend". For my part, I learned to have more time by myself and with other people to let him his to recharge. I also learned to directly ask what I want from him instead of explaining why or how his behavior makes me feel, which I found he dosen't really care why, he just wants to know what he needs to do to make me happy and get on with it lol!! So far, it is working surprisingly well! This way of explaining characters is so fascinating btw!

I thjnk I blew this test.. I am totally analytical and totally expressive. I am not a driver at all, somewhat amiable. A little. My college counselors said I'd be a great Medical professional, lawyer or entertainer. I was in medicine and then taught school for 25 years. I love art, I sing and dance, write, teach exercise classes daily and coach health. Who am I? I'm 40% Dad, scientist, 60% mom artist. My dr called me a realistic optimist. I study neuroscience and sing in a group as hobbies. Wish I was a bit more if a driver. All good I guess.

I did wear a christmas jumper but it was tasteful I swear! But then I'm a bit driver too because I walk to work for the sake of the environment and the efficiency of combining my commute with my exercise and I'm a bit get it done get it done get it done get it done. Interesting stuff! :-) I'm going to go and knock on the window of your car door looking for part two of this clip now.

OMG!!! I am amiable and expressive ! Holy cow! I didn't know they are next to each other, and that I can be both ! I have been trying to figure out which one I am. I feel like I am mostly amiable, but I also have a twist of expressive side to me. Not in the way I dress (I'm a Plain Jane) but with my goofy personality. I am also super right brained! I didn't know that expressive and amiable types are also both right brained people!!! Very interesting! Dan, you are sooooo SMART and you probably have me figured out way better than I have myself figured out!!! I didn't come across this video by accident! There are no accidents in the Universe. ❤ I'm writing my resume, I'm reflecting on who I am personality wise in the work place. I know I'm amiable, but I was thinking about how I can just blurt something out sometimes at work at the right moment, and be funny and make people laugh. I had the speech pathologist laughing so hard that she said she could barely contain herself in her meeting because she thought about something I said. She wanted to laugh so hard in a meeting because of me . 😊 I do stuff like that., it's not all the time , and I'm not really trying to be funny. It's hard to explain. I wanted to know what I am because that will serve me in my career moving forward. Knowing can also help me avoid potential pitfalls. I'm amazed that you know all of this stuff about people, Dan! If you have me figured out, then you MUST know that I love you with all of my heart.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Sanguine, Phlegmatic, Choleric, and Melancholic are the original names as created by Hippocrates in ancient times, and later expounded upon by Thomas Aquinas in the middle ages. As far as dating and love life you will match best with the personality type that is your compliment; that is, someone who has your opposite primary type and the same secondary type. For example, a analytical (melancholic) / driver (choleric) would be attracted to and match well with expressive (sanguine) / driver (choleric).
@TheWizardOfWords6 жыл бұрын
Hello Steve: My mother was in a Dominican convent for a few years (the order of both Dominic and Thomas Aquinas of course) and she studied Thomas Aquinas extensively, primarily Summa Theologica and Summa Contra Gentiles, and taught the principles of Aquinas in later years. Funny that she never mentioned Thomas expounding on personality types. If you could elaborate on your comment in re Aquinas, you could educate both my mother and me at the same time. I'll pass your info on to her and get back to you. Not my area of expertise, but certainly is hers. Thanks for writing, Steve. Dan

My response to the very real underhanded insult from my Expressive (and also a bit of a bully) coworker about my only seeming to wear one pair of pants was just that: "Actually, I have several pairs of pants that I rotate through and occasionally I wear a pair of jeans". I only realized days later that it was a snarky little insult. My analytical-type personality thought it was a general observation and curiosity. Nope. Mean expressive type.
@TheWizardOfWords Жыл бұрын
Yes, and remember--never defend. What difference does it make how many pair of pants you have--or what you wear?
@mosaicowlstudios Жыл бұрын
@communicationskills Unfortunately, I made the mistake of defending against other reprehensible behavior of theirs, and it resulted in a messy conflict. I think it's all smoothing out now. Somehow, during all of this, I convinced the bully that it was a grave mistake to begin targeting me. I've received feedback from their own subordinates (we are in a lateral position to each other) that they are now TERRIFIED to speak to me about anything. Also, I can observe them now trying to "prove" to their own subordinates and the other laterals that they are actually a really nice person. What it took was pointing out to them and our boss that they have a pattern of behavior and that I didn't have to HEAR that from anyone else because I've directly experienced it myself and observed it happening to others. The boss couldn't ignore it (because I know for certain that others have come to the boss before too), and the coworker now has to "prove otherwise". It's perfect. They're leaving me all the way the hell alone and they're being extra nice to everyone to prove that's the way they naturally are. Everyone wins. Now I've just got to figure out if this person is the kind of person who would sabotage my work. Probably, so I've got to be careful.

I notice that you seldom enlarge some of your lesson charts to full screen in your videos. I would suggest that on occasion, you make them full screen so those of us, such as myself, may take notes. I work in a call center and recently had a slip up with a client by showing a lack of empathy. I am using your videos to apply the tools you teach to improve my performance at work so that that will never happen again. Your lessons are a lifesaver!! P.S I did retype this about 5 times to apply your lessons on how to word such things, please also let me know how I did :) thank you!
@TheWizardOfWords6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jackie! You scored a perfect 9. It would have been a 10 if you had rearranged things JUST A BIT--so that your last sentence and a version of the one preceding it were placed first. That way you start by telling me you've found value in what I teach--AND THAT GRABS MY ATTENTION IN A VERY POSITIVE WAY--and then you proceed to tell me exactly what I might change to improve my lessons and your learning. Having said that--I will take to heart what you say. And having said that--if you are wanting to learn and improve your customer service skills (as well as your interpersonal relationships) you might consider my full 50-lesson course. AND HAVING SAID THAT--if you email Jean at jean@danoconnortraining.com and tell her I said to give you the deal of the century on this training--she'll do it! The 50-lesson course includes everything you've seen on my KZbin videos and much much much (too much?) more. And of course, each of the 50-lessons has a materials summary that can be printed out. For you--that's huge. And there are flashcards here and there as well. Can't beat it with a stick. Or any other course. That's jean@danoconnortraining.com :) And of course--thanks for your idea. I'll give that some thought. But if I give you EVERYTHING you'll get in the downloadable 50-lesson course--you'd question my business acumen and my sales skills and then WHY WOULD YOU LISTEN TO ME?? Dan

Omg so accurate. I'm a driver. Now I understand why I can't stand or respect Birkenstock people. As soon as you started talking about that mediocre grey type Birkenstock footwear came up in my head and low and behold you mentioned them. To me, They tend to "work" in government offices, have no brains and if their boss tells them to press a button that would blow up the world they would not hesitate because they never take personal responsibility and lack critical thinking. They play all cute and nice but their sheep mentality is dangerous. They are easily hypnotizable zombie people in down to earth uniforms. They are majority. Hitler would not have success without them and they only express their real feeling and anger when they are drunk and when they real up together in a group

I have never understood why people drool over these cars ... they are simply a VEHICLE for going from point A to point B, and I certainly wouldn't care to spend the kind of money they command for a VEHICLE for going from point A to point B.

Well thank you Hilda. I wonder if you could be more precise, for the education of readers and certainly me. I'd hate to be considered "off." :) Dan

@@TheWizardOfWordsYou are amazing, You actually read comments on old posts and responde. Yes I did, I always listen. I was just saying couldn't read the card. Actually I think my boss is trying to push me out. I do my job I am a driver the kids and the parents love me. But because I beliefs, my religion, I think my boss is trying to push me out. He spies on me and says he has cameras watching me. I haven't done anything to be fired because I do my job. I actually came out and asked him if he wanted to let me go and he said no. I think the answer is no because if he fires me I can file for unemployment and the school district doesn't want to pay unemployment benefits. Just before Christmas vacation, he actually came to my apartment, called me and told me to come outside because he wanted to talk to me. I was already off work. I came outside and he preceded to scream at me in front of my apartment. He had wrote me up for bad behavior. I had refused to drive in the same vehicle as a man who 2 years before I had reported for stalking me on my off hours. My supervisor also knows that I had a route with that male driver, for a very short time two years ago, and that I refuse to ride with him anymore. Close contact with someone like that is no good. Basically Sup was setting me up for failure demanding that I have a route with that male driver. That driver also has Asperger's which makes him an especially difficult person to work with. Have any advice?

i disagree. No one is one set thing 24/7. It’s called experiences and emotions.

Hi Damon: I believe people react differently to those experiences and emotions based on their personality type, and that's really what this lesson is all about. For example, if an analytical is angry he/she might show that anger quite differently from an expressive. If you confront an analytical, he/she would no doubt respond differently from an expressive.
