I’ve been listening to Eckhart for a few years now, and he is always that reminder to stop the story in my head and to be still more often in between my rapid thoughts. I still experience anxiety, but now I know that I don’t have to just by stopping it in it’s tracks. I would say by design and because of evolution and the incessant struggle for life which has brought us here, the mind is always catastrophising and imagining worse case scenarios in the future to preserve our existence, this is where awareness has it's place to try to calm it down somehow and bring it back to present moment.

Eckhart often talks about the importance of acceptance, and how important it is to accept what is. Learning this has been such fantastic tool for me I have also now realised the equal importance of accepting what isn't too. What is, is without thought and what isn't only exists because of thought. So now when I catch myself worrying about a possible future event I remind myself that what is, is genuinely happening in the present moment and what isn't, isn't and isn't happening anywhere else but in my imagination.

As Oprah said "What you resist will persist." Learn to embrace any situation and control how you react. Don't let any situation or moment define the rest of your life. Turn every challenge into a learning experience and an opportunity to become a better version of yourself. I've learned to just go with the flow of life and always control my reactions to any situation so that you stay calm, speak, and act with clarity. Don't let any situation define you, let it refine you.

Great illustrations of the Power of Now. So helpful. I like them as bedtime stories.
