how to deal with REJECTION as a model

I was rejected by Miami Swim Week every year for over ten years until I got cast by three designers last year (2022)... at age 37. I did two runway shows and a photo shoot.

@FreshPepper Thank you. The trick is, as you said, not to take it personally. Rejection happens, just keep trying. Not every shot is a goal 🏒 , but you don't stop taking shots!

For me at first my rejection was my depression, but I had to buckle up as to, I had an aim as well as me being encouraged by my coach. So it not easy though but we gat to keep on pushing.

Me too! It'd time to get back up when depression knocks us down get back up and tell it you hit like a bihhhh!!! - it's a on going struggle but are dreams are worth it!

I had a modeling agencies that replied to me today, (when i applied just yesterday) but they said they couldnt do much for me because they were busy with representing their current clients and which they take time with it, I applied for over 10+ of them and so lets hope I get in at least one! (15 btw)

I live Switzerland, my daughter is mixed race and was rejected until now I can't get over it. After submitting her photos I received a call from the agency and was told that my daughter does not have the face of Switzerland! The person then went on to say they to are mixed race and to honest my daughter would not be accepted, had itbeen she had blonde hair and colored eyes probably it would have been considered. She then wished me good luck and ended the call. So now what can be said? At the time my daughter was 3 years old. I tried again the same agency when she turned 14 years and they did not even respond to receiving her photos.

Modelling these days isn’t really about being good looking. It’s about being progressive. Which is why all models today are fat, have some form of disability or are black. Bring back the days models were good looking and about beauty, not a superiority complex you have about being insecure about your race or disability.
