I just wanted to reach out and say how important this video is, I have multiple curves in the 20 degrees range and I rarely see people talking about scoliosis. For about two years I was deeply depressed and hyper fixated on the lives of others online to escape my own reality so i wouldn’t get out of my bed very often but after high school when my dad had an accident and landed in the hospital i ate so much food to comfort myself that I made myself sick and that day I realized that I can’t keep feeling sorry for myself and I started my fitness transformation. I’ve been exercising and eating healthy and got a job too, even though standing for long amounts of time hurts I’ve learned to work through the pain and I hope to inspire people some day too. In the words of David goggins “Stay hard” 💪

Ive dealt with severe scoliosis 4 years ago the chronic pain sucks more than anything but it’s helped me build discipline and learn to not let the pain discourage me from what i want to do with my life. Im a 19 year old mechanic and i love working on cars and the back pain doesn’t help but the pain isn’t as bad from getting used to it but i quit high school sports because of it and the gym has helped me alot i still deal with the pain but its made me who i am today. I totally understand about the pain and scoliosis taking away what i want to do with my dreams and ambitions

I truly hope you read and respond to my comment. Living with scoliosis, I deeply relate to your fitness content. My primary challenge is my chest workouts, where my right side tends to be shoulder-dominant, while my left side engages my chest effectively during compound exercises like the bench press. Despite my best efforts, unilateral exercises have not completely addressed this issue. Even when I perform flat, incline, and decline dumbbell bench presses with my right hand, my shoulder still takes over. Before I was aware of my scoliosis, I took on a 200 push-up a day challenge for a month. This resulted in a visibly larger left chest and right shoulder. Even during push-ups, I felt my left chest working, but on the right side, it was my shoulder that got the intense sensation. This experience led me to develop a dislike for push-ups Now, I'm focused on building a balanced and complete chest, despite having access to only dumbbells and barbells in my gym. Your advice on addressing this challenge would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Mine isn't too bad but it makes one of my ribs come out more and it just looks bad. No pain or anything just lowers my self esteem at times. Thinking about just putting on weight and hitting the gym now. Your videos are so inspirational I'll prob get started as soon as I can!

I have a curve that’s very mild but still brings me a lot of pain, but finding out about it (about 2 months ago) completely destroyed me alongside a tmj problem because of my dreams as a saxophonist and becoming an athlete with you know symmetric proportions. I’m still trying to figure things out and move forward because of the all the pains and discomforts I feel all over my body right now. But yeah I still have faith that God has a plan for me. Great video man happy to be a subscriber! So inspirational seeing a guy my age completely crap on scoliosis and keep moving forward! Hoping I can be like you🫡💪🏽

I can appreciate your seemingly negative feelings toward the medical profession. I am a scoliosis sufferer myself and have a 50 degree Cobb angle. However, I am a semi-retired Nurse/PA and am surprised at your statement that a physician would have you "give up" and "stay on the couch". That has never been my experience with other healthcare providers. Saying such things to your audience will sow mistrust in the very people who can help guide patients through their scoliosis journey, whether patients choose surgery or more conservative methods of treatment. Please measure your words. Thank you for your content. Have a safe and prosperous 2023!

Thanks for the comment! I super appreciate you for being a nurse and I’m sorry to hear about your scoliosis, I was told by doctors to stop doing the activities that I loved and you’re right they didn’t use the words “give up” but the majority of them made my situation seem hopeless and that there was nothing I could do. That was just my experience. Obviously if surgery will help you then I support that, in my situation it wasn’t an option. The video was meant to encourage people. Thanks 🙏

My doctor said to do the least amount of physical activities possible yet that’s when I have the most pain. Most doctors basically tell you to just sit around and take Tylenol
@lavendergun
@lavendergun Жыл бұрын
@@bigbadsailor03, it's sad that you've had a bad experience with your doctor. However, to say that "Most doctors" tell their scoliosis patients to "sit around and take Tylenol" is not a statement in fact. It is a generalization, and it's inaccurate. Your doctor is likely not familiar with the methods to treat scoliosis. He or she probably does not have many scoliosis patients. See a specialist. You may get a different treatment plan than that given to you by the doctor who gave you useless advise. Good luck to you.

Look into if your scoliosis is being caused by something called tethered cord syndrome. That’s a possibility because genital pain is a common early symptom

Hi, the angle of my curvature is about 22 - 24 degrees, can you please tell me what angle you had? (I know that you probably talked about this in the video, but English is not my first language and all I heard was 260 degrees, but it’s obvious not your curve xd). I watched almost all your videos and workouts, but I don’t know if I can do them, maybe my scoliosis is much worse than yours and I can’t even do the exercises that you do. Thanks a lot in advance!
