Try putting rice on varrasleipä. The varrasleipä is a type of finnish rye bread, wich is dark brown in color. It is shaped round and has a hole in the middle. The weird part about it is, that it is hard. As in hard like stone. You need strong teeth chew varrasleipä.

12:56, Filipino here, can confirm. Spaghetti isn't eaten with rice, but the other food items before that panel are. The spaghetti was just an exaggeration and that joke made the comic funny. To be honest, when I first learned that other countries don't eat rice with main dishes I was genuinely confused. How are you supposed to eat a bucket of KFC then without the rice to neutralize the umami? Not only with KFC tho, just the greatest example I can think of. But it is applicable with any main dish. Fried fish, sinigang, eggs, bacon, etc...
