honestly just watching this video reminds me of how much Apple needs to give us new ways to quickly go through old message threads. Some (like with my wife) I want to keep for a long time, others, not so much. I have 40GB of messages in my iCloud, and I'm not excited about manually going through hundreds of threads.

I don’t understand why they make it so hard to delete texts? I just want the delete the WHOLE THREAD. It’s not working.

Why do I have to watch a video to delete texts? There used to be an "X" so I could easily delete with my cursor. Then Apple "improved" it and I'd choose "delete" in the menu but I could still delete old texts... now Apple "Improved" it so I have to highlight each individual text. Choosing "delete after 30 days" delete's ALL texts I some need to keep ... Right Apple- your shareholders will love the i-cloud proceeds! GAWD I HATE APPLE!

Thanks to this info, I've deleted several spam/phishing text messages from my Mac. Unfortunately, icons for two senders still appear at the top of my Mac's Messages window as "favorites" or "frequent senders" or whatever Apple calls those icons above the list of messages. Soooo irritating! Is there a way to get rid of those icons?

okay, I see. Did you try tapping on the "View" button in the top panel, while having the messages app open, and switching the view to Known senders only? I feel like the spam should get filtered out by this.

So instead of swiping left using the trackpad what are all the other options to delete a whole conversation? I'm using an external mouse which doesn't allow the swipe function and the keyboard keys don't work too even if I add a custom app shortcut! do you have any solution for mouse and keyboard only users to delete a message?

So what you have to do to delete the entire conversation is click on the actual text itself, go up into the tab where it says CONVERSATION and scroll down where is says delete conversation and it will delete the entire text.

Thanks ! Is there a way to SELECT ALL messages not JUST conversation . All messageS per contact per person all at one time ? So far I’m only able delete one by one .

how do you delete a text message that is a link? if your highlighting bubbles and you hit a link, it will take you to that link and everything you highlighted goes back the way it was. Thanks!

How do I delete iMessage that has as a photo with an email on it. I tried to delete and it just keeps sending me to the link on the picture. Any suggestions?
