I LOVE these concepts for multiple reasons (RECOVERED POST APOCALYPTIC WORLD IS MY FAVOURITE NICHE, monster/furry/creature people, extremely different societies, etc.) but one of the big ones is because of just how obviously YOU are invested in it! I can't wait for the story to be told eventually but since you are so dedicated to this I trust that when you introduce your other projects I'll be just as interested. I would love to know how to make an OC for this universe. I have ideas already!!

Fantasy race!? well I have one. It's literally a race of strange living lotuses. I put a lot of inspiration from Buddhist concepts. Their society works around space surveillance, and the race's "philosophy" ties a LOT with my story. like seven afterlifes being tied to seven dimensions. and the thought of multiple worlds being tied to a multiverse.

A persona video sounds super fun and unique since most people with projects like this don't lay out guidelines to allow their audience to create OCs for their universes. Of course, we do learn about their worlds and the rules with those worlds, but everything else is basically assumed. All in all, what I am trying to say is, that I am all for the Persona video-😅

I love these kinds of videos!! I will say tho! I don't think it's a good idea to base a race or species off of just one historical era or culture. The best way to go about it is to understand why the culture was the way it was rather than copy and paste certain parts. I think this because having a race or species based off of one cultural carries HEAVY implications for the entire world and it makes more authentic. Also it allows you to better understand a culture even those that aren't your own, allowing for a more generally diverse world. Like, If they're basing the mammal guys off of historical America I think they should consider how heavily impacted that era was by Christianity. For a simple example, tattoos being unallowed like they mentioned, was in part because the Americans believed it violated the bible's mutilation law. Same goes for their views on homosexuality (although that is MUCH more complicated). So, having a dislike for tattoos and homosexuality in the American culture having somewhat stemmed from religious roots it wouldn't make sense if the mammal guys were just,,, like that,,, for no reason. Practically everything happens for a reason, I think it's best and most realistic to study how certain things affect a culture and make your world to evolve in a similar path. This also includes environments !! For instance **one** reason the American south was agriculturally focused like the creator said was because it was very warm and fertile (among other things). Idk if there would be an equivalent in a post-nuclear world but hey, that's worldbuilding.

I agree, you should think about why the history you’re taking inspiration from was the way it was. And not mindlessly copy and paste. Out of all the races, mamlkin follow American culture and beliefs the most. They know about Christianity and many practice it. Because they admire humans and what they left behind. Specifically old American southern culture. So there is a reason why they’re like this. I don’t know if I explained it well but keep it mind there’s additional lore and context that I don’t cover the full extent of in these videos. I still plan to tell this story. Comic, webseries, or whatever else. I don’t want all the lore and extra context out there. But I definitely get what you’re saying and I didn’t mean to imply you should take from history without thinking. Just use it as a jumping off point for inspiration with some critical thinking

Also it’s pretty sunny and hot where Micah lives just like Lucin. Their environments are similar. Lucin’s is just more humid and swampy. And yes it’s post apocalyptic but I imagine the world has recovered well since the fallout. Some parts are probably still inhabitable but greenery and sunlight still exists 👍

OMG this is a really fascinating topic. I myself build on a fantasy world and the races that inhabit them. One cool thing between different races one may have in their work is cultural exchange. That is, two different peoples sharing their cultural traditions and ways. Amongst the many people's of my fantasy world are the Turosians; purple humanoids with horns sticking out of their heads, shoulders, elbows, knees and males have one growing out of their chin. The Zethaar who are basically serpentine humanoids with snake-like attributes. Now, both of them have their own unique set of races, cultures and aesthetics intrinsic to their respective heritage . But they do however have cultural exchange with one another, hence why they share similar styled clothing, decorative patterns, traditions and so on. The ridiculously abridged version of why is that they became besties after fighting humans and other races AND have suffered similar persecutions and thus decided to band up. I have but recently found your channel and love every piece of it. It's always a breath of fresh air finding another worldbuilder.

This video was very helpful to me! It really reminds me of my own world as its set in a universe where all sorts of supernatural shenanigans can exist. Although it depends on their world and so on. As for the ones I focus on the most is that humans escaped Earth to another Earth-like planet after Earth's plant mutations and infection but after some time there was a dystopian era. Humans mutated into monsters that they called Lycans/Tibicenas/Tibimanas and so on. But after they where freed from the parasite that caused them to mutate the mutations somewhat remained, which led to a new race of supernatural humans. (Or a subspecies of humans?) Before all of this happened, that world was once home to hummanoid creatures based on different kinds of fays and had connections to an otherworld where gods resides. But that world became a wasteland after their own god turned against them. (Turning them into apocalyptic dwellers and then the events of human arriving happened.) Nearly every oc and story of mine is set in the same world/universe. (And they connect in some way even if its just the fact that their set in the same world, with the difference being timeline and location.)

@@Girl_Delinquent Its part of the fact that my mind keeps trying to find ways to connect things together lmao - but it is useful as its familiar material and I dont need to start a new world from scratch and need to establish the same shenanigans haha! Although when I do create a new world like the reality where gods/higher-beings reside, I casually worldbuild it overtime with the general idea of it all and how it might relate! But when there'a a story or character I want to do or create someday that doesn't exactly fit in with the world, I sometimes make them an in-universe form of fiction or anything like that! (Which also helps worldbuilding where some Real-World ocs of mine are fans/into that in-universe story.) _And yes I know there's a lot of complicated stuff and so on- so maybe it's best to see some aspects as its own thing that so happens to have connected dots lmao-_

As of right now they’re just insects. At least in the main story but I could see an insect class of people existing in some other part of their world. I haven’t written anything for an insect class but it makes the world feel bigger if there are other classes/people they don’t know about. It’s not canon but that may change when the story actually goes into development.

For now. Someone else asked about insects as a class too and I’ve been thinking about adding other classes. In other parts of their world. Like there are people they just haven’t discovered yet which feels real. I’ll probably canonize it more in the future but until then fanon classes are completely fine. I’d actually love to see those especially ✨
