I hope you guys enjoy the video! Vectornator is free on all Apple platforms so go get it now. This font process is a basic rundown, so if you would like to see more videos and tutorials about font making let me know in the comments!

Hey Will, you’re videos have helped me out for months! Keep up the amazing work, if possible though, can you either in the description or beginning of the video just show your canvas size/setup? I’ve followed a couple videos and sometimes it comes out all pixelated

I don't usually comment very often but I love your videos, as I'm just beginning to get more serious about my digital art and design. Thanks!

Well, for beginners and if you are still trying out the world of font design, plus if you wish to try it for free without investing a lot of money into an app, you could try FontStruct. FontStruct is a browser-based font design tool that lets you create your very first font easily and export it as a True Type (TTF) format. The downside is that it is not as powerful or advanced as FontLab. Fontlab is THE go-to font design software for those who have committed themselves into the world of font design. But the software itself is pretty expensive and the built-in guide section is sometimes not very clear to understand for beginners. Add to that, the amount of tutorials regarding how-to with FontLab in the internet is quite minimal.

When initially sketching out your font, how do you make sure the line weight is consistent letter to letter, and even winthin all parts of an individual letter?

Do you need a desktop for the next part? I’m so frustrated seeing creative market with splashes and whatever details.,.. I want to use alternates but it feels like ifont maker is my only option as someone without a desktopx

Hm, i tried the stated Vectornator - Glyphs worklfow, but it didn´t work as expected. A direct copy and past of a traced letter doesn't create paths in Glyps but a pixelimage. Using Illustrator as an intermediate step, the pasted Vectornator-> Illustrator->Glyps paths are ugly with a lot of additional points and duplicates. ( although they looked clean in illustrator ) Traced Affinity Designer paths worked fine... I really like Vectornator. Anyone had success here?

My apple pencil doesn't work if I hold the screen with my fingers I guess it can't do it simultaneously. Wtf? How do I fix this? This is so annoying. It was supposed to be a baseline setting since Will showed it in the tutorial that its done this way then it should be done this way with the baseline setting. But I cant fucking do it. What the fuck?

What if i make and sell a font to a dozen people and and then i happen to see it all over the Internet few years later. Given that some fonts are very similar and then created to outlines, my question is how can I be sure thats my font and how can I take action of people stealing my fonts. I feel this will be a very long journey clamping everyone down stealing my work.
