number 59 crooked cook is weak to exactly one card, that is Sage de Fleur if it targets crooked cook, and what the set card would be, the continual effect for crooked cook will stop applying crooked cook will be destroyed if that's there (Sage de Fleur) along with whatever the opponents set card is as is the rule with numbers, they are only allowed to be destroyed by other numbers once Crooked Cook runs out of overlay units/xyz material its going to sit there as a brick if a number isn't there, if a number or Sage de Fleur is there its done

I play Aromages mostly, so I just get Bergamot on the field who lets me inflict piercing battle damage with all plants and they just either scoop or just watch as I just keep beating on Crooked Cook's low defense.

Versed a guy playing an Exodia deck who summoned Crooked Cook with the shark combo. I had no outs, was going through my options for like 2 mins, realised he was looking for Exodia pieces, so I summoned Time Thief Redoer, stole the top card of his deck - it was one of the arms of Exodia. He kept playing and proceeded to realise two turns later, then surrendered.

If you find yourself against a lot of tributes and kaijus as a cook, run mask of restrict and nuke it with cook's quick effect if something targets cook. It's a bit risky, but it'll give you a bit more defense.

the base card is not affected by card effects, but there a card called left hand shark or something that if you use it to summon a Xyz monster it makes that Xyz monster not be destroyed by battle. piercing damage monsters are very powerful against this tactic. I run Dark magician and there was someone that ran this deck against me, got me down to 5 cards left. i drew an Eye of Timaus and summoned a Dark Cavalry (does piercing damage, and also gains 100 atk for every spell/trap in either GY or field. there was like 30 spells/traps in the gy and field combined lol. i had like 6200 attack and did 6k damage on first attack, he panicked and didnt know how to counter dark cavalry, because i also had eternal soul and dark magician dragon knight on the field so no spell or trap cards could be affected on my side. also both Dark Cav and Dark Mag Dragon knight are both treated as "Dark Magician" while on the field and graveyard so both of those monsters are protected by eternal souls ability that dark magicians cannot be affected by all card effects. they could only be destroyed by battle. which wasnt possible for him hahahahahahaha
