My fuel line was 3/8". So I cut a 3/8" long piece of 1/2" steel tubing that had a 1/8" wall and sliced it into two pieces. Pushed it into the fitting with a pail of pliers. Worked like a champ.

I did this with a an old credit card, a zip tie, a lighter, a tire pressure gauge, and a 9mm box wrench. 1. cut the credit card cut down to a 3cm by 2cm rectangle. 2. wrap the rectangle around the tire pressure gauge and use the lighter to give it a circular shape. 3. wrap the warped rectangle where the tool would go. 4. tighten the card flush around the metal with the zip tie. 5. use the wrench to push the credit car in.

Thank you, so easy now. I found if you push the bulbous end towards the tool while pushing the tool into it, the tool slides all the way in much easier. Once the tool is all the way in, they disconnect easily.

Always release pressure from the high side first before trying to disconnect the low side.

On my vehicle there is a small valve to relieve fuel pressure, it is helpful for this situation

If my car has been sitting for 3-4 and it's been on jack stands in the rear for about two or three weeks do I still need to relieve the fuel system pressure or would be be depressurized by now? I don't want to damage stuff by running the car on old gas, I actually have to disconnect a line to drain what's in it so that's how I got to this video.

keep in mind do not perform this (unless really need) if you're due for a smog cert and submit it to DMV in a couple of days. By disco the battery you just reset your EMC to zero which means will take a while to be ready for smog (unless you use a 9Volt batt to keep EMC alive). In California, if one sensor is not ready it still be smog w/o failing.
