It’s bullshit that they don’t make this easier. Many other mowers have much simpler means of disengaging the transaxle.

It is interesting why they chose to have this method. The engage/disengage works in a shop setting with a solid floor and tools, but when you are out in the field it may have been better for the manufacturer to have a a rod or lever that doesn't require a person to go under the machine have tools on hand.

This is my my 3rd time using this video. Half asleep right now at 5am about to start my first yard & the first mower to come out the trailer (blocking the other equipment) won't start. Now I have to push her out & leave it at the repair shop. Thanks for making the pump in the road a little smoother!

Your welcome. Since you probably know these hydrostatics usually have a lever to turn or pull, I’m glad this video has helped you.

Oh if I knew this yesterday. But thank God, I had a friend with a tractor. Hopefully, towing it slow doesn’t hurt the pumps.

It’s interesting they didn’t attach a rod or something more accessible. These larger mowers are really heavy so it’s good you had help. Good luck with your equipment.

Any knowledge bombs about towing it I had to pull mine out and could not access the transmission switches easy

Is this how you can select the high/low gear the scag I use selector seems jammed but I also felt like I'm missing something
@TryAdaptLearn Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this is not related to the high low selection. Of O come across something similar, Ill post a reply here. Good luck with machine.

Would this be the same on a liberty z?
@TryAdaptLearn2 жыл бұрын
I do not know if this is the same as the Liberty Z. Usually hydrostatic transmission/transaxles have a rod or lever. If you can not find a rod or lever to disengage then I would look at one of the transaxles for something similar to what is in this video.

Would this be the same on a scag tiger cat 2?
@TryAdaptLearn3 жыл бұрын
What's different about these is that there is no metal rod from the hydrostatic transaxle. I have not seen the underside of the SCAG tiger cat 2 but if it has Hydro-Gear ZT-5400 and no metal rod, then I'd look for the slots like the ones in this video.

I realize this question was asked 2 months ago, but if you haven’t found it, On the TCII you have to lift the seat and directly under the pump fans there are 16mm bolts *use a deep socket* (one on either pump and on the side of the pumps facing the front of the machine) it’s hard to see them because of the fans so you may need to feel around loosen the bolts but don’t remove them. Hope this helps someone.

You just saved my ass. Too much to type but thanks man.

Awesome, glad the video helped since the transaxles don’t include a rod or way to easily access it.

"A hand tool must be used". Screwdriver? Pipewrench? Hammer? Stapler?
@TryAdaptLearn3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. I apologize that the tool was not specified. In this video, the tool being used is a flat head screw driver. A pipewrench may not be the best tool since there is a slot and the valve doesn't have an external handle or case. I would not recommend a hammer or stapler because as seen in the video, the bypass valve needed to be opened or closed with a rotational movement. It was vague in the audio just incase there was suppose to be a manufacturer recommended tool. The main idea with the audio was to just give the viewer a heads up that unlike other hydrostatic transaxles with just a lever or rod, this specific model in the video required a hand tool to disengage.
