In this video I show how I built a DIY Foot Control Trolling Motor Tray on a budget. This Foot control trolling motor tray is cheap but very strong, and does not take a lot of skill to make. Be aware of your dept and other measurements to take into consideration, and your foot controlled trolling motor tray will come out just fine.

The only thing I would do different is work on it when its not hot as ever outside, lol. Otherwise, I like how the project turned out. Good luck on yours

Looks good bro, I'm thinking about doing something like that with my aluminum Xpress, and checked out your video to see how you did yours. Mine has bow supports running in a crossing pattern under the deck where I need to cut out. I read a bass boat forum where a dude tried a basic tray insert. Said now his deck "bounces" hitting waves from cutting those supports. What a freaking nightmare!!! That scratched the tray for me. I'm thinking that backing with the wood and screws like you did will keep it solid after removing the cut out. Just gotta build up my nuts to do it now🥜🥜

Do not use pressure treated wood on aluminum ever. Sounds like a good idea but he chemistry btw the two is bad.

copper something in the wood preservative leaches out and weakens aluminum... = melts your boat :(
