Just a tip, same as sandpaper but a wire brush will lighten up the stain as well and allow you to get in and around the knobs at the base of the antlers.

I’m Florida, I’d remove the hose and then stick em on a fire ant mount. Come back and check it once a day till cleaned out. The bigger the mound the better. I’ve had em strip em in a day, day and a half before. Then you boil it to her the remaining ants and sand out. Finally soak in commercial grade hydrogen peroxide to whiten it and a coat of clear enamel. The ants did 90% of the work! LOL

Excellent video. Same way with a few exceptions. Every deer skull looks similar and it is the antlers that make it unique. The Hunter may have some sentimental attachment as well like my Grandson's first Buck deer. We had him on camera making rubs so the trash and bark in the antlers was an important part of the Bucks life. We wrapped the antlers and left the shredded tree in the rack. Character. If I knew how to post a picture here I would show you the doe he shot last year. Very unique and his very first ever deer so I did something special.

Thank you. Yes each deer is unique. I have left the tree bark on the base of the antlers before as well.

Excellent tutorial! I really appreciate your replies in the comments as it helped me understand the tradeoffs use have used vs other methods. Could you show close ups of the nose s of the big batch you completed please or describe how much is left intact? I like leaving a bit of the nasal bones if possible by not using a pressure washer but just a garden hose with pinpoint nozzle for "up the nose" spraying, and then picking out the residue, but it take SO MUCH TIME to get them really clean. Your method is so much quicker. What is your experience on how to not totally blow out ALL the nasal cavity bones?
@indiantrailoutdoors

I typically don’t worry about messing up the nasal bones too much. Just get it clean and move on.

Man I would not recommend your method to anybody, your not boiling your skulls long enough or using the right ingredients, I never have to take a drill or long needle nose scissors for the nasal cavity, I use a sink and a pick and it comes out just fine

Couldn't really see what you were doing after you punched the ear area out. You need two cameras or put your camera in several different locations. Stop and move your camera, then start again if you want to make a really informative video.

Mop and Glo??? If anyone's wife goes to wash the skull in a few years it will wash the Mop and Glo right off, that is the way it's meant to work. Every time you wash the floor it will remove the previous application. Something like a spray wax like any dusting spray would work better. And lose the music, it just doesn't fit this video son. Otherwise you did a fine job.

Personally, I don’t like the snow white bleached skulls. Don’t seem to have much character. I just dig mine in the dirt, let the maggots and bacteria take care of the flesh, and then you can boil the skull for a little bit to disinfect it and take small tools to scrape out the cavities. Then I like to smoke it and spray with clear gloss enamel. Good video
