This is a 2 person job like this without getting air in the system… one pumps the brake and then the other closes the valve then release the brakes and repeat… that simple

I need to have this done. My fluid is clear, but it's 9 years old, I used one of those cheap testers, and it barely read 3%.

I’ve yet to find a good way to bleed the brakes on my Lexus. I think I may even have to remove the bleeder screws to put Teflon around the threads. At my wits end. I tried vacuum method yesterday. Also did not get good seal and pedal not solid feeling. Also FYI -BE CAREFUL NOT TO DEPRESS PEDAL PAST THE NORMAL LENGTH OF TRAVEL WITH THIS METHOD. ONLY SHORT PRESSES. HEARD YOU CAN DAMAGE SEAL SOMEWHERE.

That air is coming from around the bleeder valve. Not ftom your system.

@@thehuangbros the bleeder valve doesnt seal air tight in to the caliper. Once you loosen it some will pull air in around the nipple into the stream of brake fluid. Some folks apply grease around it to minimize
@VasyaIvanovichPupkin11 ай бұрын
@@DjCBlaq To elaborate: the air is getting through the threads on hhe bleeder and gets mixed into the stream of fluid. By applyin, grease around the base of the bleeder screw, you prevent air from getting into the threads while you are bleeding the brakes:

aren't you sucking in are each time you depress the brake ...without closing off the brake bleeding nut? someone needs to pump ...and someone needs to close the nut before the person releases the brake?

my car battery went dead while bleeding my brakes. After i finished the brake flush, i jumped the engine but then immediately the check engine light turned on. I went to autozone and code ABS malfunction and traction off showed up on dash. not knowing what to do, i removed the battery, check engine light turned off for now but for how long?

As another commenter mentioned, I heard you need Toyota Techstream to do this properly. Maybe it has to do w the antilock braking system(?) Anybody hear about this?
@thehuangbros Жыл бұрын
Maybe. I know one or two that uses it and then I also know a plethora or people that does this method on their RCF.

Did you disconnect the battery before starting the bleed? If not did you use Tech Stream to rest the brake codes? Was the brake accuator running while you did this?

Barry, color is not a good indicator if brake fluid needs to be changed. Since it's hydroscopic, the amount of water in it needs to be tested. That's the best way to determine if it needs to be changed. However, Motul recommends changing brake fluid at least once a year if only on street or after every track event.
@thehuangbros Жыл бұрын
I disagree. This dicoloration is after 2 years. This is also past the lexus rcf manual recommendation on when to do a brake fluid change, this exceeded 20k miles. If you ever waited with discolored fluid, you may see rust colors come out which is not shown in this video but shown in my earlier videos. With all this in mind, it was time to change this fluid.

Question does the brake pedal become rock hard after a few pumps and you won' be able to push out anymore fluid??? Also is your reservoir cap on or off the master cylinder resorvoir???
@defau_lt97608 ай бұрын
The brake pedal does still move- it just becomes very hard since you have no help from the engine being on from the vacuum booster. If you're doing it alone, keep the cap on unless filling the fluid.

Barry. Are the OEM RCF brake pads suppose to squeal?
@Sebb747 Жыл бұрын
Mine squeals a bit as well and I have 2 month old dealership fitted pads. So most likely yes, but not excessively.

Good question. Ive had 2 RCFs and both oem brake pads squealed slightly. One did more than the other and the other did not. Its a 50/50 i guess? But i know MX72 pads do not.
