How to do a perfect root coloration to cover grey hair regrowth?

In this video you can see how to do a root retouch that covers your grey hair and ensures an even color result from root to tip. Indeed, when your hair color is growing out, you need to make sure to color you hair perfectly, so follow our expert's step-by-step tips.
Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: Perform an allergy alert test 48 hours before each product use.
Step 2: Choose a permanent level 3 coloration. Tinting and lightening would not cover your grey hair.
Step 3: As your roots grow out in a different shade, it is very important that you follow the application time to reach an even color result.
Step 4: Protect your clothes with a towel
Step 5: Unpack the box which contains all the components of your coloration.
Step 6: Put on the gloves that you find attached to the instruction leaflet.
Step 7: Use the mixture immediately on your dry, not pre-washed hair. Apply it first to your roots and massage it in.
Step 8: Apply the coloration strand by strand to your roots until they are completely covered, then massage the mixture in thoroughly and let it work for 20 minutes.
Expert tip: Use the application top of the developer bottle for forming sections of hair on which you then apply the coloration.
Step 9: Then spread the color to the full length of the hair and let it work for another 10 minutes.
Expert tip: To remove stains of color on your skin, massage these stains with the color itself before rinsing.
Step 10: After rinsing out the product thoroughly, use the color locking conditioner as after treatment. Leave it in for 2 minutes then rinse out.

I have been doing this for over a decade...You do not need to use the whole bottle for this, prepare just half. Get help for the back of your head and don't forget to apply some behind the ears! To avoid stains on your skin just apply moisturizing cream around your hair line before coloring.

You need to use a toner. If you tone at a low developer volume, for a few minutes it will even out the color and reduce the "hotness". I recommend wella. Toner goes after color, btw.

The developer what are you using? Strength? Remember it's peroxide that lifts off its over 10% (deposit only) sometimes it will lift your natural color then deposit the hair care color

Actually, you are supposed to shampoo this or any color out... preferably with a sulfate free shampoo or one that's good for color treated hair...cool water rinse at the end closes the cuticle..

Yes lightly shampoo so you don't have residual on your scalp or hair..sulfate shampoo or shampoo for colored treated hair. If you go to the Salon they always shampoo the color out of the hair..this is what I learned in school years ago. Same is true til today

After the first shampoo Luke warm water not hot...conditioner treatment you may wait a few days after that..cold water rinse is always a good idea closing the cuticle. Adds extra shine as well..simply beauty trick. I have done my hair for years because obviously I have experience I could never just rinse the color out I have too many allergies leaving a residue of color on scalp or hair is asking for a possible reaction.. tangled mess too!hope this makes sense.. think of it this way..when someone highlights their hair or bleaches it absolutely shampoo is necessary same gos for darkening the hair it stops the processing of any type of color. Here is what he does not say!!! You must use a color labeled NN for grays!! NN color is twice as saturated and will color resistant gray. color can range from a 9--- light blond to a 2.-, black. I am medium brown, but to prevent dark roots, I use a 6 nn, which is a light brown and it matched my hair perfectly. Color, nn ***needs to be mixed in equal parts with a 20 or 30 volume peroxide, also known as the developer!!!. I always use 20 volume, them make 10 but not great for gray. He is showing you how to use a box color!!!!! Bad! Professional colorist will not color hair that has a box color in it. Get you stuff online , if you can't get it at a beauty supply store. People do not use box color, it is easy to mix the color and the developer in glass or plastic bowl. Use a small ...Paint brush is you don't have a brush. I just did mine for the first time with professional NN color 2oz and mixed with 2 ounces of my 20 volume. Only leave in a half hour, do not do longer. Good luck!

It is possible to let your gray grow out and still be attractive. Get more exercise and eat healthily. There is more to life than your hair.
