Just a possible suggestion: but with these kinds of videos is it possible for you to also include you getting onto the machine and getting into position as well? And perhaps adjustment points to get the machine to fit to your body? I know there's already a video on this but it doesn't cover all machines

Hi NK just started working out in the gym, I wanted to know if I'm doing it wrong, or is this another exercise that is ok. When I use this machine I sit in the right position, feet planted down and pull the bar down behind my upper back. Is this ok?

Is it bad if my feet aren't flat on the floor? I'm short, so if i adjust the seat so that my thighs touch the cushion then my feet aren't fully flat on the ground anymore

since you said you were a beginner, im guessing that you haven't formed a mind-muscle connection yet and you are pulling mainly with your triceps. you want to focus all of your attention to your lats and make sure you are using only your lats to pull. like the video said, always make sure your shoulder blades are retracted downwards or else the rotator cuff in your shoulder might get damaged from constant bad form. in the video, she is pulling towards her upper chest, but you can experiment around with the landing position somewhere between the upper chest and the collarbone. its different for each person. also, its hard to know what's wrong just from words alone. a video can make the process a lot easier. there are a lot of useful videos out there on youtube for lifting weights but they don't always cover every single inch. they are more like guidelines. so take your time to perfect the technique or you can ask a trainer or even an experienced lifter in your local gym to help you out. bodybuilding is a long long journey my friend.
