If you don't start your workout with it, the low back or biceps become the limiting factor, meaning you cannot get a good enough back stimulus to trigger growth and the whole thing is pointless. How am I wrong?
@joeofdoom3 ай бұрын
1. You shouldn't program a row with another lower back intensive exercise on the same day unless you're an advanced lifter. These tips are clearly aimed at newer lifters. 2. Your biceps aren't the primary mover in any heavy rowing movement so if they're limiting you, then you're probably doing something wrong.

I do this for strength training, it's first or not at all. I think this stands for growth as well. If you're doing it at the end because it's too fatiguing and you're loading it light because you're already spent, is there any reason to be doing it at all? If it's not so integral that you'd prioritise it, then is it really giving you what you want? Personally, I'd do it first on a day where the rest of the workouts aren't going to be lessened (pull-ups and curls), but this is assuming you have two different pull/back days.

yes!!! i love pendlay rows with bald omni man's form (slow negative and some cheat to get it up) my upper back exploded from these. also its the only row i do and i do it once a week as first upper body exercise... edit: cyborg form like shown here won't work long term anyway
@cristian93654 ай бұрын
Yeah, if "axial loading fatigue" on rows is a fear, then you are 100% neglecting hip hinges and should do more of these
@farzeenfarooqui54974 ай бұрын
True but if you’re already doing a bunch of heavy posterior chain work like Deadlifts, Squats, Hyperextensions, SLDL/RDL then it might be a good idea to do a lighter BB row so that you’re giving your erectors a chance to recover.

@RyubearSaysGao4 ай бұрын
Downside is that at the end of my workout, I am likely not going to slap as much weight onto the bar. I warm up with three sets of barbell rows, rest for a bit longer than usual, then go on with the rest of my pull day.

@pauliusbaltas3 ай бұрын
You stretching too far, if your focus on this exercise is thicker back, than you seem to be doing too much. Rows supposed to be in less range of movements, cuz that's how it works your back muscles. If you simply just stretching after the range of motion you than include workout to your lower back and even some legs muscles while in that motion doing very little for your upper/mid back. That's why you can't row that much. Control is everything, but so is knowing correct range of motion and that not always means stretching as much as you can.. (This is actually proved by multiple studies btw)

So wrong bro, check Dr Mikes videos on barbdll rows full rom is king always
@BassAssassin1234 ай бұрын
Can’t say I agree with barbell rows being a bad movement to start with or that you should not go heavy(relatively speaking), but perhaps for beginners that may be more valuable advice. With proper form any movement can be done “heavy”. Not going heavy on barbell rows sounds like you’re implying a higher rep range or staying in the 8-12 range but leaving reps in the tank. Also for a movement like barbell rows that may cause more axial fatigue instead of not doing it early in your workout or going heavy you should adjust the volume for the best stimulus to fatigue ratio.

If the overall fatigue hinders your other back workouts then you're doing barbell rows wrong lol
