I never realized how foundational the clock choke is. I took a 10 year break for personal reasons and 2nd week back I pulled that last variation out of my tool bag. I knew it was a move but couldn't remember why. Thank you for posting this.

Great video. Ricardo Liborio taught that last variation this summer and I've been trying to work into my game ever since. I lit up like a xmas tree when I saw it. Sweet move.

So basically it's the asymmetrical choke from a different angle. Purpose is to block the body from turning while you lift the lapel upward. Nice! So many variations of that back choke. Awesome.

I notice that the third variation clockchoke is the most effective one if done quick. Real powerful.

Couple things that are off .For the 1st version, You shouldnt be "pulling". If you have to pull, your grip isnt correct or deep enough. You of course are flaring the wrist, maybe thats what was implied. Also the version at around 3:30, you put your elbow on the mat beside his head & your entire shoulder lever turns to make the pressure, again, not pulling(maybe thats why your opponent escaped) hope this helps & thx for always posting. Oss.
