With the clock choke, I always wondered what you were supposed to do with the second hand. I do like the minute details you include. I honestly think this technique came at the perfect time. And other clock puns.

I tried teaching this to my son, but at that point it was second hand information. By the way, no need for alarm if no one else adds clock puns!

Sick, this is a nice variation! I also learnt one where you get the cross collar with the left arm/hand, but blocking with it seems effective and probably easier to do
@Oldhandlewasabitcringe5 жыл бұрын
If youre playing with this I like this variation to finish once you have the grip try swinging a leg over like your taking the back (no hooks necessary) and try to put your upper body forward past their head so you hang all your weight through your choke grip, its super tight. My variation is probably less sound but I seem to finish more with it.

OSS! Professor Tom. Thank you for this variation. I have used this choke before, but would keep my "non choking" hand on the same side as the entry to collar, dropping my arm to place my tricep next to my opponent's head and then walk the clock. I prefer this variation. Watched it yesterday, implementing it on the mats last night with immediate success. Awesome! Been on this journey a little over a year now and my first competition is Oct 5! Wish me luck... Most likely, some of your instruction will assist me "under fire". I'm thankful as always.

I tried this today at the gym to a training partner. I thought I did it right but now I realize I put elbow on the wrong side. I was on the right side of the partner and i slid my right arm underneath to grab the left side of the lapel. To here it was ok but the elbow i put on right side of my partner instead of left. I did everything else correct after and I realize the lapel shortly after so I wasn't able to confirm. Does it still work or it wouldn't, coach? Thanks! 🙏 I suppose has to have the neck under my arm pit to apply pressure

So for me, vs the turtled opponent the hardest part is getting that hand in and across to the other side lapel. Usually the opponents hand-fights furiously.Any tips on how to get there simply and efficiently?
