Wish I saw this before masking and peeling the chrome off, any idea how to do the yellow on a french joey mod?. been watching your videos for a while, and appreciate what you do, keep up the great work. I own a 95 mk3 cabrio. Have a few questions regarding parts from one of your previous videos but didn't know what the best way to contact you would be.

ive been there before 😂 you live and learn, luckily headlights are quite cheap. yes just use yellow paint instead. thanks dude, message from Facebook, link in description

@@Project7YT I'll get another set and do it the right way. I tried the yellow paint, didn't look as good. Someone from my local autopaints suggested an 'ink' paint that they sell which tints the chrome so you keep the reflectiveness, quite pricey through. Any idea where I can get my hands on a vento GL lip? saw them for sale on ebay few years ago but not anymore.

@@byronec.d642 ah yeah the dye idea could work. Vento lips are getting harder to come by now, keep looking on ebay and Facebook marketplace

The Joey mod, I've heard you talk about it a few times & always wondered what it is! With MK3 headlights are most plug & play? I have the ones you've got in the video but wanna replace them with either hella quads like you've got or twin reflectors (I think that's what they're called) but not sure if much modification is needed

Haha know you know! Most are yes but I think there's a difference in connector plugs unsure if it's by age. I'm sure if you get the headlights from the same age you should be OK, have a look at your connector on the back and then go to a scrapyard and see what you can find

I've tried this with a set of very old crusty lights and after 45min of heating and prying it would not budge. Just chipped glass. I think if the lights are old or aftermarket the glue will not soften up. I have a set of Hellas in great condition but am scared to try on them.

Maybe it's the glue if aftermarket as the ones I've done have been hellas. All came off very well with little effort Only needs a couple seconds with a heat gun in a concentrated area and pry

Nice👍 Parts are scarce here ... But it will be nice to do this mod... I'll try it as soon as i get a new set of head lamps... Incase i ruin the one i currently have in the process😂.. Thou it's time's like this i wish i was in Europe or North America .. at least parts are readily available there
