How To Double Drop Shot for MONSTER Trout! Tutorial and Trout Fishing Action!

What's Up, Anglers!?!
We traveled to some new, far but local waters to meet Golden State Fishing and his Pro-Staff for some trout fishing! I mentioned to Estevan, Owner of GSF Custom Baits that I wanted to get more confident using the drop shot and double drop shot. Man oh Man! Did he put us on the fish with this technique! And every angler on the lake or at least around us was using the double drop shot and hooking up on toads too!
You have to try this finesse trout technique if you haven't already!

I killed it on this setup, limited out by noon and was able to work on my jigging and spoon fishing! Got a 6LB ⚡️ on the spoon to top off my day. Keep up the bangers brother! Great video! You’re very detailed and the contents awesome man! I came thru the ultra light heavy weights pop up in LA and it was good meeting you and heavyweights crew! As well as getting a bunch of jigs from there I did purchase some of their lighter tubes as well and was wondering, do you think the “donkey rig” would be a good rig to throw at these trouts with some of the smaller jigs? Thanks for watching and supporting! I think either would be ok, maybe a softer tip rod so the trout can take the bait! Hmmm, good question! A stiffer rod the trout will feel the tension sooner and drop the bait. That's my logic! GET MADE!

I am a new sub. I have a question for you. I’ve been trying to catch this big Palomino (Golden Trout) since April. I have gotten it to raise on a couple presentations but have tried many various baits and techniques. He either just checks out the bait, or just tastes it and I don’t get a hook in him. Do you have a suggestion on bait or color that may get him pissed enough to take the hook. He is aggressive to the other fish in the hole, you can see him push them out. Along with other anglers (it’s a public stream) we have several predatory birds including bald eagles which have hunted him all year and have made him spook easily. I wear camo when fishing for him, which helps get me more casts before he shuts off. But I only get one or two casts per bait before he turns off on the bait. I am not a beginner fisherman, but this fish has made me feel like one and drove me nuts trying to figure out how to get him. About the only thing I can think of to try is drop shot a live minnow or Euro Nymphing. I’ve never seen him raise on a hatch, so my guess is he is eating at night or only aquatic insects and crayfish (we have property on the stream so I’m able to keep an eye on him). My buddies have given me suggestions, they’ve also tried to catch him with no luck. Do you have any experience with a fish that won’t bite?

Yessir! I’d tie a different knot actually so the hook and powerboat aren’t so close to the main line. Like I’d tie a loop knot so the hook is floating away from the line with the PB on it. Maybe I’ll do a video….GET MADE!
