I am starting a pressure washing business and was considering buying the X-Jet M5 to apply chemicals. However, you’ve convinced me to go with the Downstream Bypass Injector instead. Thank you for sharing this valuable information with us.

Glad it helped. Best of luck you you in your business.

Hey Doug a great video as usual, I had a question hope you can help out - For DownStream injector bypass why to create such an elaborate setup will it not be more efficient if on a regular downstream injector put a ball valve on the downward pipe/hose which pulls the chemical/soap mix... and once that ball valve is shut there is no air intake issue either this simple 1 piece ball valve can also help regulate amount of chemical you need to mix with the water spray ??
@PressureCleaningSch Жыл бұрын
Still will lose pressure and flow. There are adjustable injectors you can do the same thing without having the ball valve.
@cfuzzkennedy Жыл бұрын
I was going to ask the same thing. I can’t see why the need for such an elaborate system when a simple on/off valve will shut off the intake. He says you will still lose pressure, but I cannot see how. It’s almost like plugging or capping the injector line or even not having one at all.

So after a little more research, I now understand what Doug is saying. If you have a 4gpm machine and the injector is 2gpm, the internal orifice of said injector will restrict the machines maximum flow. The bypass offered a no restricted path for the water to flow and return to maximum flow.
@kashi2843 Жыл бұрын
@@cfuzzkennedy Yes that is what I assumed by Doug's statement "still will loose pressure and flow", but my question was in a setup with same orifice sizes, so the doubt and to better understand the physics I checked out other YT experts on pressure washing and all of them had similar concerns of a pressure drop if there is no bypass and then I myself setup a rig to check pressure loss and I did find a noticeable pressure (but not too much) drop if there is no bypass. btw I checked with both orifice sizes same

Hey Doug, when you put your SH in the 5 gallon bucket are you mixing it with water? Or are you just using your bypass with straight SH.
@PressureCleaningSch8 ай бұрын
I use Straight SH

Would this be a good back up on a 10 gpm machine when your running a dedicated soft wash system?
@PressureCleaningSch Жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely. But won’t get as strong a mix as the dedicated pump

If X-Jeting, will this matter. Just because I am still confused.
@PressureCleaningSch3 ай бұрын
X-jetting and Using a bypass are two separate things not to be use at the same time. Hope that clears up confusion. If not let me know.

Hey Doug, is a 100 gallon water tank too small for a 10 gpm unit? The water pressure in my area is pretty good with 5 gpm on the low end and 10 gpm on the high end. I mainly do residential jobs and would like to have between 100-150 gallon tank if possible.
@PressureCleaningSch Жыл бұрын
Should be fine unless you wide open for an extended period. I’ve always 100 gallon on my 8gpm w no issues unless there was a supply issue

Hey Doug, will the bypass work and siphon with a 4gpm 4200 psi GX390 direct drive ? Thank you

Does your plug out version limit corrosion on plug or doesn't it matter ?. I have some brass plugs I use and they tend to collect corrosion. I use a brass brush to clean them off. I know I should have all stainless.
@PressureCleaningSch Жыл бұрын
I use SS plugs. But I use both brass and SS couplers and never noticed a huge difference on either lasting longer due to corrosion.

@@PressureCleaningSch okay, I was sorta thinking that way. Thank you.

Dont know why, but when I connect 200 feet of hose, it's not pulling any SH from the bucket ??? Any suggestions
@@pressureandsoftwash21 hmmm very odd it won’t pull. It definitely should. Try it with an open valve or nothing on the end of your hose just to see if it will pull.
