In my low elo games, I usually prefer to ban a champ that my team mates do not know how to play against it. I am main jungle and I usually ban shaco or master yi, I play very well against them, but when they are against me my team mates are losing the game in 5 minutes dying for no reason.

I ban Warwick for similar reasons. Nothing tilts me quicker than “Enemy Double Kill!” 2 minutes in followed by “An Ally has been slain” and then being perma invaded by the 3/0 Warwick the rest of the game

Ban garen in low elo They'll just split the entire game and low elo teams dont know how to properly respond to it, even in emerald people mess it up

My ban as adc is fizz for this same reason. Idk why but this champ always seems to be 3/0 by 10 minutes then I just don't get to play the game.

IDK if you watched any Korea streams, but there is an unspoken rule on that server that no matter who you are and you could be even freakin Faker, you always give last pick to the TopLaner (TopLaners dont even need to ask, whoever is last pick automatically presses that got damn button to swap pick order).

Something that I learned from augost the game developer is that the theory of "rarely picked champs are onetricked" is not necessarily true because a champion like yasuo is a champion that is widely picked and widely mained whereas a champion like ivern if I'm not mistaken is a champion that is rarely picked and rarely mained

Draft doesnt matter much until maybe around E2+. But I would agree with his statement of banning a champ thats decent against your specific champ or played alot thats just kinda OP overall. Low elo games just last so long that you can pick a late game scaling champ and be fine.

@@iplayfoofee3547 Super untrue. If there is a champion with a winrate near 45% on your team, then you should dodge everytime. If your champion gets taken or banned, then you should dodge everytime. These things will lose you the game in draft everytime, regardless of whatever your ranking is.

Scaling is relative to team compositions, if you pick aphelios againt full range/poke. He will not scale. If you pick karthus with full ap, he will not scale. Just because your kit is weak early and strong late game doesn't mean that you will be able to express yourself when late game arrives

i think red side having last pick is a huge advantage, since you can not just counterpick your lane opponent, but the entire enemy team, remember the game is still 5v5 not just 1v1 (think of champions like rammus against a full ad team for example), in my opinion this is really unbalanced. and ontop of that red side also gets the higher mmr players as well, making the issue even worse, plus blue side gets more autofills.

Red side has a lower winrate. Check league of graphs. Not nearly as overpowered as you would expect. A lot of last pickers don't trade their pick, and also a lot of last pickers are one tricks, who don't pay any attention to counter pick win rates. So, first pick happens to be much more influential. If you have a champion that is safe to pick early in the draft with few bad matchups and a high pick rate, then picking early is extremely beneficial, because it denies the enemy access to your meta pick.

@@pollenskins this is not actually true, i did some further research, here are my findings: on blue side its easier to get carried, the chance to get a smurf on your team is also way higher. people who perform poorly/below their rank always perform better on blue side. on red side its the opposite, people who always carry their games always perform better on red side, thats probably why experience it in that way. you can do this check on pretty much any account redgardless of elo, you will find that what i said is always true in above 90% of cases, ofc there will be outliars when the sample size is not big enough but on average you will see that what i say is true. tldr: if you suck at the game you will win more games on blue side. if you are good at the game you will win more on red side and the difference can be pretty big in some cases, you will be surprised if you actually analyze the data like i did. btw i used leagueofgraphs for this, under the patterns tab you can check this for yourself.

pyke is like shaco, kind of useless champion, unless you're facing dumb players... since my teamates are almost aways dumb, I ban shaco cus I HATE seeing my teamates runnign into it then die and go "oh, shaco so op" no it's not... it's you that is dumb so I do you a favor and ban it beforehand.

you recognize that multisearching your teammates is discouraged by riot and advise against doing it. then you also recognize that riot is discouraging dodging lobbies but still proceed to give a detailed guide on it... i hope riot further tightens restrictions on dodging, it should not be a valid "strategy".

fair point but i think its a matter of how easy it is to do and how much of an advantage it gives you. Everyone in high elo dodges and you would be at a major disadvantage to not do it. Viewing your teammates names in select is not done by most players even in high elo. I agree though and would love to see riot remove dodging as a strategy because its much easier to just play the game instead of worrying about dodging.
