Dude your editing has been top-tier lately. Great work man! This video is full of great information too. I actually just got a credit limit increase on my Citi Custom Cash that I'll be posting in a video later this year. It's a good time to get those CLI requests in! 💰

Congrats on the increase! Definitely a great time.

@@KevinYang Yeah Citi was a bit stingy with the limit increase but I’ll take what I can get. I wish I had a $30k limit on a card like yourself! Maybe once I take the leap to a luxury travel card that’ll be the case.

That’s awesome, I just got my cap1 quicksilver increase. How long should I wait for another request? Thanks

Cap1 let's you do so once every 6 months I believe!

just curious....when you say never max it out...does that include maxing it out even if you pay it off right away? for example, I have a card with a $500 limit. I max it out 2-3 times a month but then pay it off the same number of times too and have a utilization before reporting at under 10%
@KevinYang2 жыл бұрын
I think there's a fine line there. It's unclear exactly when each company reports balances to the credit bureaus, so if they happen to do so when you still have the high balance, then that's not great. I think if you do it from time to time, or you've already been doing it and notice on apps like Credit Karma that your utilization is still low, should be fine!
@412foto2 жыл бұрын
@@KevinYang I thought the balance at the end of your reporting period was what was reported to the bureaus...no? I only have 3 cards currently. 2 I aligned to the same end of billing period dates and doing same for 3rd so they will all be in sync and easier to manage
@KevinYang2 жыл бұрын
@@412foto I've actually heard conflicting things about when the reporting date is vs. cycle end vs. payment date. But best is to see if your current way of doing things shows as a low or high utilization on your credit report!
@docsays2 жыл бұрын
@@412foto - most banks & CUs tend to report your balance on the statement closing date. However its not guaranteed. For Example Synchrony has occasionally reported my balance after my payment due date. Kinda strange

Great content. The credit cards with the highest limits in my household are under my name and my spouse is an additional cardholder on my account. However, he pays many of our monthly expenses using his additional card. Is it better that household bills be paid under my card when it comes to working toward getting a higher credit limit or does it not matter since all the activity is under my account any way?

I have a $200,000 total credit limit, my only Capital One card is the venture x. Also approved at 30k. Do you think there's no harm in trying to get a credit limit increase? I've never asked for one but the banks just seem to raise it themselves.
@KevinYang2 жыл бұрын
Capital One lets you try for a credit limit increase once every 6 months via soft pull, so no harm in trying! Good luck!

Great video bro! Question that I do not see on a lot of credit card videos - Do you know if having such high credit limits hurt your ability to get approved for a mortgage (ie your income is 100K but have 150k+ credit limit)?
@KevinYang2 жыл бұрын
I don't think so! I think the opposite because having high credit limit while lets you utilize a really low % which increases your credit score and therefore better mortgage terms!

Depends! That's where the soft vs. hard pull comes into play :)

I have 4 credit cards that don’t do hard pulls when I ask for credit limit increase, so I asked them every six months. These cards are my capital one card, my American Express card, my Apple Card and my Discover card.

It's not actually correct to make full on-time payments, this will lower your score, you need to have at least one account in debt for example 10 USD, my advice if you have just only one credit card do not pay in full, you will get -19 point down (in my case). That called all zero penalty.

Credit scores are just a form of federal control, so if you want to continue living a good life? it’s important to have a high score. My house and vehicles are paid off, I have one Visa card for all purchases, which gives me air miles, and I pay it off monthly, but my score bounces between 800 and 820 without changing any of my patterns, so it’s manipulated for some reason. COGNITIVEHACKS made it stay at that range and getting it up
@h4l3x52 жыл бұрын
VERY well done ! I say this with 40+ years in mortgage finance & banking working with credit bureaus. Different models and parameters are used by different industries but COGNITIVEHACKS info is pretty much universal. If you're trying to max your credit scores, there is a happy medium between too many credit cards and none. Too many cards with zero balnce may actually hurt you in some cases. Even if you do not use them, you have a potential. To always pay cash & still have cards doesn't help your scores as well

Happy to see some greens again. The last few days have restored my faith in crypto and made me believe we aren't down and out yet. Already started making some of the significant buys I've been planning for sometime now. Over the last few hours I've bought myself a good amount of COGNITIVEHACKS , one of the tokens I'm really bullish on. because of it's potential and high utility.
