Dude, honestly, I'm starting to teach myself to draw (or rather teach myself and rely on good tutorials), and after watching loads of videos, this is the only one that actually bothers to show the process for a beginner correctly. I'm actually a teacher myself, and clearlty not everyone explains things correctly, so thank you for being one of the people that do!

I appreciate this. I was trying to sketch a face today, and the nose gave me the most trouble, as usual. I'm not very skilled, so most portraits I attempt are still very cartoonish. The one nose instruction I remember is from 10th grade art class: "You only draw the nostrils; the rest is just shading." Anyway, I'm glad I now have this as a starting point to make better noses. Thanks!

You are the only artist who has broken the steps down explicitly. Every other video on youtube sucks. You are a great teacher.

Thanks for all the videos dude. they're great. My 9 year old is definitely growing up to be a killer artist, I also oil paint but am just now starting my journey into portraiture so we're both learning together from quite a few of your videos. She'll watch one and come show me what she learned and we'll draw together. Or I'll watch one and show her what I learned and she'll get all excited and we'll draw together. It's amazing

I don't know how to thank you, cause i've been struggling to draw noses for more than 2 years now and most tutorials arent this good at explaining and teaching me how to draw noses properly.

I wish you had gone into more detail about the construction of the nose, but even so, the video was still very helpful!

+Phantomhive I apologize for that. I have to watch the clock on some these videos because the popular format on KZbin seems to be 5 to 7 minutes. ( or even less really. ) And I still managed to go over that explaining these two angles. More on the way real soon. Thanks for watching!

Great video. I don't know why I never thought of using those shapes to draw the nose. That really makes it a lot easier to understand how to draw the nose from various angles. It'd be nice to see how you break down the lips and ears like this.

A question. When drawing in prespective do you use prespective tools in photoshop or mangastudio? What do you use?
@RobertMarzullo8 жыл бұрын
+hamidious I use Manga Studio 5 for perspective drawing. If I do it in Photoshop I use grids that I distort into perspective but I still find Manga Studio to be more efficient than that work around. Thanks for watching!

+Robert Marzullo Cool tutorial :) I only do not understand the perspective.... Shouldn´t the bottom plane (horizatal line from the front) of the nose have the same vanishing point like the top plane ( horizantal line from the front)? At first I thought, you draw only the triangle shapes for the plane for the nose in perspective ( like if you would cut the nose of the face with a knife and get then a plane in the triangular shapes, which you have drawn at first). But then, when you draw the curved, organic shapes at the nose, it looks like you drew the whole nose in perspective not only the plane, where the nose sits at the face, but if you have drawn this, the perspectiv is wrong. I am confrused :) And I think you too after reading my comment^^Anyway, I really hope you understand, what I mean and my bad english. :)
