Kate Jenvey has loved drawing all her life. Her early years in East Africa were exciting and filled with adventurous safaris, wildlife naturally became her inspiration. She painted and exhibited her first "blue-eyed" lion at the tender age of five.
After settling in Australia, Kate was able to realise a childhood dream of riding and breeding horses. Her fascination with these enchanting creatures also inspired her to portray their beauty and diversity.
Kate Jenvey's chosen media are graphite, colour pencils and oils. She chooses a realistic approach to my work, adding her own artistic expression to natures awesome beauty.
Kate Jenvey's life time of traveling and studying animals has given her the opportunity to observe and study many of the worlds great creatures. Her ability to capture the majesty and wonder of these animals is portrayed in the amazing work she has produced. She is a woman with enormous empathy towards her subjects.
Kate Jenvey is a professional artist working in the media of oil, graphite and coloured pencil with nature as her inspiration, mainly wildlife and horses. She is a signature member of Artists for Conservation and Society of Animal Artists, a member of AGRA, Australian Colour Pencil Society and Pencil Art Society. Kate Jenvey's work has been featured in ‘The Australian Horseman Magazine’. She exhibits her work nationally and internationally and has been part of some esteemed art shows including ‘Western Visions’ at the National Museum of Wildlife Art (USA) and ‘Arts for the Parks’, winning the Grand Teton Lodge Award. Kate Jenvey participated in the Artist-in-Residence program with National Museum of Wildlife Art (USA). As part of her art and educational program, Kate manages her blog where tips and questions can be exchanged and you can see some work-in-progress and new art straight off the easel.

The Colour in your life fine art TV series is an art show that takes you into the everyday studios of artists from around the world. Wonderful interview! it was great to see Kate demonstrate a drawing in her own studio. Such a talent she has in her drawing ability! However, Kate is also a lovely person with such a contagious genuine love for animals and that deep feeling and respect for the animal is communicated keenly through her artwork.
