Well, Anime and Manga isn't really Jazza's style when it comes to art, he has his own unique style. I think that his chibis look pretty good, especially for someone who doesn't draw anime/manga. Some people may like the style that he draws them in, and some may not, but, I see this as a foundation, take what you like, and replace what you don't, and draw it in your own style preference. There is no right or wrong way to draw a chibi in my opinion. (:

Wow. I LOVED how easy this was haha I’ve seen Chibi style, but it’s not really my fancy. However, my friend loves this style, so I thought I would teach myself how to draw chibi to inspire him to get drawing! Another great video Jazza!

Wow, some of you guys need to chill out. Jazz a said that he isn't a manga artist, he's just sharing the knowledge he does have. I myself am an avid manga lover so I get that sometime his stuff has a lot of western style, but that's OKAY!! This was a great tutorial! Who cares if it's not EXACTLY like the manga style!

Jazza, I usually quite like your videos and they tend to be very informative. However, japanese chibi and manga and anime being my specialty, I gotta say that I didn't learn as much in this tutorial. I do think that this a very useful for people just starting out, and the proportions too, but the way that you drew most of the eyes kind of didn't sit right with me. The pupil was fine but the upper lash line in particular, I tend to think that it should hook into itself on the outer edge.

That seems more like one of the things that would define one artist's style of "chibi" from another artist's. It's not as if there is one set style to draw Chibi in, this is just his style he's teaching.

If you draw Chibi I won't draw the nose, Chibi is much more exaggerated and simplyfied. Also the distance between two eyes are still about one eye if it's a 3/4 view the eye which is closer to the camera is the ruler for the distance. Except you do the button eyes like in 7:11 that's fine. Also most Chibi doesn't have a lower eyelid this lets the character "breath" also they look without a lower eyelid much more friendly. The smoking one was very good. But still awesome work for your first time.

Hey Jazza, Just found your channel and I do have to say it is absolutely amazing and I have definitely subscribed to see more! I am really trying to be more of a free hand artist (for example relying less on the circle tool in photoshop and learning how to do them by hand) which leads me to my question, how are you drawing free hand such perfect circles? Do you recommend any particular types of exercises that I could do daily to hone my line/circle skills, because drawing a Chibi face free hand for me usually ends in disaster haha. Any help would be appreciated, I just bought a new Cintiq13HD and really want to get into anime/chibi art styles. The other issue I am having is none of my lines are straight, even when I do one quick stroke as recommended. Anyways, thank you so much for all your videos and the work you put into them and wish you nothing but success!
