After learning and applying this, as well as the Glitch on Paper tutorial. I'm pretty proud to say that my eyes are now permanently damaged. But no joke, it didn't take too long of a video tutorial, but boy do they literally give you pretty accurate results if you do follow them... And it's so easy follow, even a pre-schooler can hurt their eyes too making their own glitch or neon drawings. Love it man. You pulled me back into the world of art again. 🖤

I’ve been drawing on black paper and just sketch it with pencil in daylight. I never thought of doing it your way by transferring it on the black paper with tracing. So much easier!!

yes, you can use acrylics for it. Paint black acrylic all over or you could go creative and paint a very very dark brick wall as it appears at night and use acrylic paint with fine brush and colour pencils.

The neon is top notch, but the background..... Well, not so much. Neon tubes create light, and therefore have little to no shadow when the sign is on. You should use the black pen to create a support structure for your neon sign. After all, the tubes don't just float there. And if you do draw the support structure, don't use such a heavy black. They're affected by the glow just as much as the wall.

I don't have posca markers nor i have any black paper, but that won't stop me from drawing these lovely neon drawings, I usually work with gouache colours and I'm gonna do the same, but with gouache paints♥️ I will surely post the same on instagram after its done with hashtag neongouache make sure you see it♥️

I tried it last night and since I didn’t have any black paper near me I experimented with a different technique and it looks pretty good. I started on white paper and used pink and magenta colored pencils to do the outlines around the original drawing, once I had the light pink done I erased the pencil line and redid the pink, then did magenta. Then I used a white colored pencil to color in the middle of the “tubes” and sort of make the white paper and the pink a softer transition if that makes sense. I did the “glow” with the light pink, blended it, drew a square in black pencil around everything, colored in the darkest places full black, then when I started to reach the glow, I lightly layered black on top of the edges of the glow, so it was still pinkish, then blended that pink/black part together letting it inch a bit into the rest of the pink and black. If this was confusing here’s some example images: ibb.co/album/C3SS7y It doesn’t look as good in the pictures as it does irl but it looks pretty cool, obviously not the same as in this video but it’s okay
